Really Flies!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids love this remote control spaceship! They follow it around and play with it for as long as the battery lasts. It is easy to use with three simple control buttons and fun tricks. Be sure that you have an area to fly it with some space because there are not any controls to maneuver front/back/left/right and if it gets too far away, it will be out of range. You’ll need some room for the child to chase it around. When the spaceship is out of range, it will land which keeps it from flying away too far. The first time out, the rechargeable battery in the spaceship lasted for about 30 minutes of play. The Lightyear figure that goes inside is tiny and will be easy to lose but isn’t necessary for the fun of the spaceship.

Terrible idea

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son was SUPER EXCITED when he received it! However it's made of plastic and foam. It's NOT durable! It lasted my son 2 days and he was heartbroken that he can't play with it anymore. The listing price for the toy is definitely not a price I'd pay considering the durability.

Fun, but not without flaws.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids love watching this spaceship fly, even if it has some relatively minor flaws. The first thing I noticed was that the spaceship tended to drift quite a bit when it was supposed to be hovering in place. This happened whether we used it inside or outside. I'd recommend using this outside unless you have a large indoor space. A large field would probably be best in order to be able to follow the ship as it drifts. The controller is easy to use, but the spaceship's response to the controller is a bit delayed due to Buzz talking to Star Command before the command is activated. Despite these minor flaws, I would recommend this R/C spaceship as long as you have a large enough space to use it.

Durable, and easy to get the hang of

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have an 8 year old and a 4 year old, and they both loved this Hot Wheels R/C Lightyear Space Mission Explorer Vehicle. To preface, they're both extremely into Toy Story and Buzz Lightyear, so that was definitely a bonus to this product.
For the spaceship to function correctly, it must be charged a sufficient amount. Once charged up, the boys took turns making the spaceship do tricks. It is pretty easy to get the hang of and a quick sweep of the directions definitely clarified things for us. We loved that it wasn't made complicated by having different dials and knobs. It's 3 buttons. One takes off, one lands, and one makes it do the tricks.
Overall, this product is easy to get the hang of, can withstand quite a bit of crashing (yes, this was tested!), and holds a charge quite well.
My kids can't wait to take it on vacation to the beach this year (away from the water of course!) Highly recommended!

Good idea, operating difficulties

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Cool design, unfortunately my 6 year old was not able to work the remote as designed. Gets off the ground but we weren’t able to get it to flip/roll over or do any of the extra functions. The remote wristband fits well on tiny wrists all the way up to adult wrists.

Difficult to operate

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unfortunately our 8 year old is still trying to figure out how to operate this. The instructions aren’t much help, and both my husband and myself have also tried to fly it without much success. It definitely requires a large open area without trees/obstructions. It’s also very fragile, we’ve been afraid it’s going to break with it crashing. The “fans” are also pretty loud when it’s flying.

Fun for ALL!

My 6 year old and 12 year old equally had fun.i really think this is the best toy for a family. Everyone has fun even mom and dad!

Great, Fun, and Unique!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Hot Wheels R/C Lightyear Spaceship is probably the coolest toy my kids have ever received. The toy is very easy to use and will land gently. It seems to avoid objects well and it is steady. I appreciate the ease of this toy. You dont have to think to hard, you just push whatever flight mode you want to use. I am pretty certain the best part of this toy is that the controller is worn on your wrist, a close second would be that you can charge it with a cord!
