The amount of peace this

The amount of peace this device brings is amazing. The video and audio quality is phenomenal, even in the dark, and the functionality of the portable touch-screen tablet is so convenient. Especially when we have sitters. I would highly recommend this device for newborns, especially if you're a parent (like us) who were really scared about SIDS at first.

Love this monitor and will

Love this monitor and will recommend it to everyone. Being able for both my husband and I to be able to go on our phones and check on our baby without having to carry around a monitor has made our lives so much easier. I also love that it tells me when she woke up and for how long she slept. Plan on getting it again for future babies.

We LOVE our Nanit baby

We LOVE our Nanit baby monitor. We have such peace of mind knowing we can see and hear our child from anywhere and get alerted when there is movement of standing in the crib. Since our family lives farther away, we also invested in the travel pack and it is worth every penny. Taking our Nanit with us when we travel means our routines and peace of mind travel with us.

The system is good in

The system is good in that you can customize the alerts and they work well. The breathing wear and breathing system can be really helpful for monitoring baby's breathing. The alerts do come in within real time, which is great. Being able to look back through the video log also is incredibly helpful. The NextNap feature is interesting in that it can be loosely used as a guide to when baby might need a nap, but is never obviously spot on. It's been a big asset for us in monitoring our baby.
The issues I've had are:
1) The night mode is quite grainy despite boasting a crystal clear picture. Sometimes this makes it hard to actually see if baby is breathing, even with the breathing band or breathing wear pjs.
2) The temp sensor is consistently 5-9 degrees off what the actual room temperature is. I think this is cause the unit the sensor is attached to gets quite hot. I've done all the resetting things, but when compared to a separate room temp device, that feature is essential useless.
3) The velcro on the breathing wear band and the sleep sack is exceptionally loud. When you have a new babe the last thing you want is to be waking them with a loud clunky band around their belly, and yet that's how it goes. We've opted for the breathing wear pjs, but they have their own issues. Such as the pattern stops at the zipper area so there is a gap in the pattern which sometimes makes the Nanit system think it can't get a read on baby's breathing and that's a whole thing.
4) The app drains your phone battery. To buy a separate monitor is quite expensive, and that feels frustrating.
5) Sometimes the overnight insights gives you really incorrect information. We've had ours often show the "To Bed" time as midnight when we put our baby down at like 7pm. Also if your baby ever sleeps in your arms for a bit before being put down, there is no way to have the system account for that when it's giving you insights. Finally the information in the Insights tab can be super frustrating in that it pushes sleep training and the cry it out method. If that isn't for you, ignore the Insights tab cause it will only make you feel bad about the good decisions you make for your baby.

Nanit is a game changer.

Nanit is a game changer. Every baby and toddler stage presents new challenges, and I go to bed every night knowing Nanit is helping me keep an eye on my little one. Whenever people ask what I recommend purchasing before having a baby, Nanit is ALWAYS at the top of my list.
