Shockingly poor

A buggy app that destroys your phone battery plus subscription plan required to access basic functionality. I wish someone had warned me that this was an overpriced option that brings your other tech down with it. I expected better.
For the price of this thing you would think it would be better quality. Not only does it feel cheap but it acts cheap too. The lamp selection is always misfunctioning. The breathing alerts always mess up too to where I have to press “false alarm” or “stop monitoring” to even be able to see my baby on the screen. And when I do press something it makes a huge noise in her room on her monitor and wakes her. Not to mention, THE BATTERY LIFE IS TERRIBLE. It does not last through the night without being plugged in.
I really wish I could give this monitor a 5/5 because I really wanted to like it. But after over a year of using this monitor here is my review. Pros: - tracks baby’s breaths - good picture quality - I like the connectivity to my phone & alerts
Cons: - consistently looses connectivity - always in “local mode” - has issues finding the breathing band - when it’s right there - says it will alert me when baby is standing(it never once did this. Yes that feature is turned on). - no option to reboot camera from your phone - nightly wakings/total time asleep/naps etc are never accurately tracked. Says baby fell asleep 15 min ago when my child is not in the crib… - alarm for my baby not breathing randomly went off mid day and my child wasn’t in the crib
Overall- for the price it’s not worth it. I should not have to tip toe into my sleeping child’s room to unplug and reboot this monitor. It should track sleep & naps accurately, as well as tell me when my child’s standing (since that’s a feature). I paid the expensive price tag to get a quality, reliable monitor I can trust while I’m sleeping to alert me. This monitor has lost my trust. I wake up numerous times to it saying “in local mode” or “lost connectivity”. As a mom I should not have to wonder if I missed my child crying due to nanits failure to work accurately.
I hope this helps a fellow parent questioning this product. It’s not worth the headache. I just want it to work as advertised.
Overall a great product and I am very satisfied. Some room for improvement is the split screen feature. I would like to be able to have all of the button functions like I do on each individual monitor when in the split screen mode.
This camera with the breathing band has absolutely put my mind at ease! Being able to check her breathing has allowed me to sleep well for the first time since our baby girl was born and for anyone who hasn't slept well in months, you know that's something you can't put a price on. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to work on independent sleep, but needs some peace of mind :)
I love the nanit monitor, the video is clear and the app is easy to use. I was not able to use the belly band due to where I had the monitor, it couldn't read the band. Also, having to pay for a subscription to see ANYTHING additional is extremely unfortunate. I wish I would've known about the subscription feature before and I would have explored other options.
The Nanit has been my favorite purchase out of all the baby items. It tracks breathing, growth, sleep time, and movement without a device attached to the baby. It shows memories of growth videos, and monthly rise and shine videos that make me cry watching the precious little moments and changes over time.
