Love this monitor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a monitor in our nearly two year olds bedroom already, so I use this one in his playroom and it has been a Godsend. He can play with his toys while I’m making dinner in the other room and I can just watch from my phone. And the picture quality and sound quality is great. I love the video history and saved clips features, because I’m extremely sentimental and being able to look back at the fun he has in his playroom (and also watch him grow and watch his wake-up memories from the nanit in his bedroom) makes me tear up a little. They’re only this small for a short amount of time and I love that I’ll have these memories forever. The one in his bedroom goes over the crib like a Birds Eye view with a floor stand, and this one just sits on any surface and can watch the whole room, which is ideal for a playroom.

Really Enjoying These Features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Nanit Essential Smart Baby Video Monitor through the Stellar Product Testing Panel, and it has been a great addition to our home.
One of my favorite things about this monitor is being able to check in on my baby anytime, whether I’m in another room or away from home. As a mom of four, I can’t always be right beside her, so having instant access to the live video feed gives me a lot of peace of mind and helps me feel connected no matter where I am.
The cry detection alerts have been especially helpful because I know right away when my baby needs me. I also really enjoy the built-in nightlight and the ability to play soothing songs through the monitor. Those features have become part of our bedtime routine and create a calming environment for her.
I also liked being able to go back through the video history and saved clips to catch moments I may have missed or revisit sweet memories. Babies change so quickly, and it’s nice to have those little moments saved.
If I had one suggestion, it would be that the monitor seems to be designed primarily for viewing a crib. I used it to monitor the entire room, and when I needed to zoom in on a specific area, it could be a little difficult. Even so, the clear video, remote access, cry detection, and extra features like the nightlight and music make this a monitor I would happily recommend to other parents.

A Great Little Baby Monitor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Nanit Essential Smart Baby Video Monitor from the Stellar Product Testing Panel in return for an honest review. The Nanit is a great little monitor for my toddlers room and traveling! It has excellent video quality and a wide view. I love being able to check in from my phone, it makes it so easy especially when my husband and I are out on date night or if we our outside in our garden. If I were using it as my primary monitor, I would buy the wall mount to hide the wire and would prefer having a separate handheld monitor instead of relying only on my phone. Using the phone works fine, but it can be a little inconvenient, and one interesting quirk is that if I don’t fully close out of the app, the sound continues playing in the background, which I can see some people liking. I also noticed the temperature reading was about two degrees warmer than the digital room thermometer in my son’s room. I wasn’t too concerned, but if my child were a newborn, I might pay closer attention to that. Overall, it’s a solid monitor with a few quirks, and I really like the video quality, room coverage, and option to add breathing motion monitoring and other extra features for an additional layer of security and peace of mind.

Great Simple Monitor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've really been enjoying the Nanit Essential Baby Monitor so far. I'm still deciding whether I prefer a monitor with a dedicated screen or one that streams directly to my phone, but for an app-based monitor, I've been very impressed. One big advantage is being able to check in on my baby from anywhere, even when I'm not home or near a separate monitor, which gives me extra peace of mind. The setup was quick and easy, and I especially like being able to check the nursery's temperature at any time. The annual subscription fee seems reasonable, and I appreciate that you can choose not to subscribe if you don't need access to historical video clips.

Nanit Monitor

The baby monitor helped me feel more connected because I could easily check on my little one through the clear video feed. I also liked that I could receive alerts without having to keep my phone unlocked, making it convenient to stay connected while doing other tasks. My favorite feature was the excellent video quality. Compared to my previous monitor, the image was much clearer. I also appreciated receiving alerts even when my phone was locked. The only downside I noticed was that because it relies on Wi-Fi, it won't work during internet or power outages.

A Reliable Baby Monitor That Brings Peace of Mind

As a parent, I love being able to check on my baby without having to open the nursery door and risk waking him. The video quality is clear during both the day and night, making it easy to see exactly what he’s doing. Having remote access also gives me peace of mind when I’m busy around the house or away for a short time because I can quickly check in from my phone.
One of my favorite features is the video history and saved clips. It’s nice to go back and watch special moments that I may have missed and to get a better understanding of my baby’s sleep habits. That feature has been more useful than I expected.

This monitor has helped me feel much more connected to my little one both at home and while away from the room. We set it up so we can see not only the crib, but also most of our son’s room, and I love being able to check on him without having to open the door and risk waking him. It gives me a lot of peace of mind to be able to quickly look in on him during naps, at bedtime, or whenever I hear a notification. It has also been especially nice that my husband can check in on our son while he’s at work, which makes him feel more connected during the day too. We’re also planning to bring it with us when we travel because I can already tell it will be so helpful to have that same sense of reassurance away from home.
One feature I really enjoyed was the video history and saved clips. I liked being able to go back and see what happened when the monitor detected movement or sound, especially if I couldn’t check the alert right away. It was helpful for catching little moments I might have missed, and I also liked having the option to save clips I wanted to keep. Being able to open a notification and immediately review what was happening at that moment in the crib or room made the monitor feel even more useful and thoughtful.

If I’m busy in another room, I can still keep an eye on my son from my phone, and if my husband is out of the house, he can also look in and see how things are going.
