Quality baby monitor but annoying registration

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have an 18 month old who likes to get out of his crib at night. The Nanit Essential Smart Baby Video Monitor has been great in allowing me to keep an eye on him. The monitor comes with a flex stand that can be tilted and flexed in multiple directions to get the best view. I keep the camera on a nearby small armoire and I am able to see the entire crib. In the app, I can zoom in and out to get a clear view of my little one. The app has many features including room temperature and humidity, microphone, and a night light. It also sends notifications when movement and crying are detected; however I’ve noticed there is a significant lag and the camera does not detect all movements. It’s nice to be able to look back at the video history and saved moments. Being able to check on him from anywhere in the home has been a great relief.
My favorite thing about the Nanit baby monitor is that the video is very clear and I can use picture-in-picture mode to watch my little one while doing other things on my phone. Setup was straightforward and easy. However, I don’t like that signing up for a trial and providing credit card info is required before being able to use the camera. Overall, I recommend the baby monitor but I don’t need a lot of the other features because my child is a little older. For parents of newborns, I can see how the extra monitoring would give them peace of mind. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this baby monitor.

Makes Checking In So Easy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a SAHM, I check on my little one several times during naps, so being able to open the Nanit app instead of quietly cracking the door has been a game changer. I can see right away if he's still asleep or just rolling around, which gives me peace of mind without risking waking him up.
I also really liked the video history. A couple of times I wondered how long he'd been awake before making a sound, and it was nice to go back and see. I even saved a few clips of him stretching after a nap and happily babbling to himself.
My favorite feature is definitely the remote access combined with the clear video quality. Whether I'm folding laundry downstairs or out grabbing groceries while my husband is home, I can check in anytime and feel connected to my little one.

Best baby monitor out there

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m obsessed with this monitor! Truly the greatest thing ever. We’ve been on vacation most of this summer so far and this is so compact and easy to bring with so I can monitor my baby while he’s napping in new places. The picture quality is so clear and reliable, I was able to see and hear my baby and felt so much peace of mind knowing that if something happened I would see or hear it immediately. It’s also fun being able to go through old clips and show my husband cute/funny moments, like our baby yelling “mama” in his crib when he first wakes up. I just really love how sturdy this camera feels, it genuinely feels like such good quality material that will last over time. Big fan, will definitely be recommending this monitor to my mom friends! Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for letting me test this baby monitor!

Peace of Mind Wherever I Am

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Nanit Essential Smart Baby Monitor has helped me feel more connected to my baby when I have to leave the room. I love being able to get chores done around the house without feeling like I’m away from her because I can quickly check the app on my phone anytime.
Furthermore, one of my favorite features is being able to check on my baby from anywhere. The app on my iPhone makes it so convenient, and I also love that I can continue using my iPhone while the live camera stays visible on my screen. It makes it easy to keep an eye on my baby while responding to messages or getting other things done on my phone. I also love that another family member can have access to the camera through the app, which makes it easy for both of us to check on our baby. The temperature and humidity readings are another feature I really appreciate because they help me make sure my baby’s room stays comfortable.
Setup was incredibly easy. The camera was simple to assemble, and connecting it to my iPhone took just a few minutes. Everything was straightforward, and I had it up and running quickly.
I received the flex stand version, which was great because it was portable and easy to move around the house. However, I was not able to test features like sleep insights or standing notifications since those require the wall mount. If those features are important to you, it’s something to keep in mind when deciding which version to purchase.
I didn’t end up using the video history or saved clips features because they require a subscription, which is a little more expensive than I personally wanted to pay. However, the live video monitoring has met all of my needs.
Overall, I’m happy with the Nanit monitor. It is reliable, easy to use, and gives me peace of mind while my baby sleeps or is playing in another room. I would recommend it to parents looking for a smart baby monitor.

Loving this baby monitor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This baby monitor has been a game changer for us! I was initially hesitant to use a wifi monitor, but living in an old house we have had a ton of issues with the connection on non wifi monitors. We no longer have those issues with the nanit. I love that I can go into our backyard to get in the hot tub or do yard work while baby is napping and I do not lose my connection. I love that it connects to my phone, rather than a monitor device because one less thing to have floating around and one less thing to charge. The stand can be mounted but does not have to be. We chose to not mount so we can move to other rooms when needed. The camera has great quality so even if we can't get it very close to baby we still have a good view. App is very user friendly. I do not have any complaints. I am grateful to have received this product as a part of Stellar Product Testing Panel.

Great Quality and Sturdy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been impressed with this baby monitor since opening the box. The monitor is made of high quality materials that seem durable. The flex stand is heavy enough to stay in one place, even when accidentally bumped, yet light enough to not be a burden when traveling.
The app is incredibly easy to use and the video quality is phenomenal. I appreciate being able to set the area for notifications and being able to change the sensitivity of the notifications. I was a bit hesitant about using a monitor without a designated display, but the notifications are more than sufficient for knowing when my baby is awake. With that being said, we will be purchasing the home display for sitters to use when we are away from the house.
Being able to open the app and check in on my baby at all times has allowed me more flexibility at home. Before, I felt that I needed to stay within listening distance of the crib. Now, I feel comfortable going wherever in my home due to the notifications that I receive when there is movement or noise near the crib. This has alleviated stress that I didn’t know I was holding on a day-to-day basis.
We will be traveling out of state in the next month, and I feel relieved that I have a monitor that I can easily bring with.
Overall, I highly recommend this monitor due to the high quality construction, video quality, and ease of app use.

We love the Nanit baby monitor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've been using the Nanit with our daughter who is now 10 months old, and it's become one of our most-used baby products. We received the Nanit as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I love being able to check in on her anytime, whether she's napping or sleeping through the night (or not…!). It gives us so much peace of mind.
One of the biggest highlights was taking it with us on a two-week trip to Scotland. We'd used basic travel monitors on previous trips, and they were always unreliable and added stress to the trip. The Nanit made traveling so much easier…we could set it up wherever we were staying and keep an eye on Isla just like we do at home. It was super easy to use on the go!
The video history and saved clips are a great feature. Being able to check in from anywhere has made everyday life much easier, whether I'm working in another room or even if we've gone out while someone else is babysitting.
My favorite feature is the sleep insights! They've been incredibly helpful as we've fine-tuned Isla's nap schedule and bedtime routine. Combined with the great video quality and reliability, the Nanit has given us real peace of mind both at home and while traveling. I don’t know how we managed without it!

Solid Monitor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a solid monitor. It is incredibly easy to set up, including downloading the app, setting up an account, and connecting to WiFi. So far, I’ve only used this monitor at home, but I plan to start using it as my travel monitor because it’s so easy to use. It also can be used as a sound machine, which is great for travel as well.
The app provides a lot of features, including memories, video history, feeding and milestone tracking, etc. I really only used the monitor feature, and some of the extra features require a subscription, which I don’t plan on renewing. You don’t need a subscription to simply use it as a monitor though.
The notifications of a crying baby are very sensitive and quick, which I like, and you can also customize the sensitivity. The camera is also really clear.
My baby is too young to use a nightlight, but I like that it has that feature, and the nightlight has a very gentle brightness.
Overall, what I like most about this monitor was how easy it was to set up and use. During naps, it was nice to go about my day knowing that I would get a notification as soon as she started stirring. If I left the house, I also had peace of mind knowing I could still check on my baby no matter where I was. The main downside was at night. There is a night mode that essentially leaves your phone on all night so that you can hear if your baby cries. It’s a lot better than other monitors I’ve tried, but I still prefer using a cheap sound monitor for nighttime monitoring.
