Nanit Baby Monitor /Display
on February 4, 2026
Posted by: Brenda M.
The video clarity on the Nanit monitor is excellent—I can see my baby very clearly, even in low light, which is something I really appreciate and rely on. That said, the monitor itself has some frustrating issues. The display is very slow to load, and most of the time I can’t turn the camera on directly from the monitor. I usually have to use my phone instead, which defeats the purpose of having a dedicated display. On top of that, the battery on the monitor drains extremely fast, making it hard to use for long periods without constantly recharging. Overall, the camera quality is great, but the performance and battery life of the display really need improvement.

I love love love my Nanit! I've used Nanit for 3 years with my first child and recently purchased the system for my second that is coming soon! I'm using the new monitor now and it's amazing! I love not having to use my cellphone all the time. 10/10 would recommend!

Great camera! Could improve reliability
on February 4, 2026

The camera is great and very easy to install and set up. The monitor will randomly turn off or have to be rebooted. Also the camera will disconnect without any interruptions to the wifi. This requires manually reconnecting which means going into my child’s room and potentially disturbing her or just not having camera access until the nap/sleep is over. This happens at home

A must-have for growing families

This standalone Nanit monitor has been such a great addition. I love being able to monitor my child independently from my phone — it’s so convenient, especially at night. The alerts are customizable and reliable, and everything works seamlessly. I’m already looking forward to using the dual-screen feature when we have our next baby. Highly recommend if you’re already a Nanit fan or looking for a smart monitor with flexibility.

Amazing Camera but travel isn't always easy

This is my second Nanit purchase for baby #2 and will always recommend this camera to any parent. Given such piece of mind to so much information on baby while they are sleeping. The one challenging use of this camera is when traveling and setting up wifi. After travel, you need to reconned the camera to your home Wifi as it only recognizes one wifi at a time.

Love the Nanit Home Screen!
on February 4, 2026

We've had a nanit for 3 years, and were on the fence with what get for our newest additions room. However, the home screen is the game changer! Love that anyone in our home can access both cameras at once! Makes it easier for multiple kiddos. And makes it easier for other caregivers to have access, which is what was missing before. (You needed the app and a log in etc, so if the main care givers were away there was no way to check in).

Best Monitor We've Ever Had
on February 4, 2026

We're using nanit for our third child, based on a recommendation from our younger siblings. Prior to nanit, for our first two kids, we used a traditional offline baby cam set up across the room from the crib, paired with a screen we could (mostly) take with us around the house, depending on the signal strength.
The nanit has completely blown away our old baby monitor. Things we love are: 1) phone notifications for motion and baby crying: these are quick, accurate, and very reassuring 2) camera position: having the camera above the crib is infinitely better than across the room. We can see baby's face and body clearly (including whether their eyes are open or closed). The video clips are excellent quality and show how much baby is moving around during the night 3) monitor screen: the monitor tells you how long baby has been asleep and awake in hours & minutes. It monitors temperature and humidity, has great volume and brightness controls, and feels like a high quality tablet instead of the chunky traditional monitor screen we had. We (fortunately) haven't tested durability or fall resistence yet - if it turns out to be fragile that would change our opinion somewhat 4) parenting team: each parent has their own admin account on nanit and other "team members" can be added and removed by an admin. It's great to have our own passwords in case we forget or need to reset them, and it's nice to be able to add and remove other family members or sitters if we want.
There are many other features in the app that we haven't tested or used, and we're on the free trial for the lowest tier plan currently (the "sleep plan"), which meets our needs just fine. We also haven't traveled with it yet, so we've yet to test that experience.
Overall we can't recommend nanit strongly enough - it's one of the best tools we have for baby care this time around. If you're on the fence between nanit and a traditional offline baby monitor, the benefits of the nanit thoroughly justify the cost difference.

Reliable and user friendly

Nanit continues to deliver excellent products for their users. This is our second camera purchase along with the new monitor. While the monitor has some improvements to make down the line, the ability to use a split screen for multiple cameras is a game changer for me.
