This press is allowing me to step up my t-shirt game. No guesswork with temperatures and I can work on something else without the worry of over heating my item or forgetting.

Disappointing Experience With Cricut AutoPress
on January 5, 2026

I purchased a brand new Cricut AutoPress expecting a premium, professional-grade heat press. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing due to issues with both the product and the replacement process.
The original Cricut AutoPress I received was defective on first use. Immediately after unboxing, the machine would not function properly. When pressing the handle down to start a press, the machine attempted to engage, made a popping sound, and immediately reopened. The press would only operate if the handle was physically held down for the entire cycle, and error code Err E46 repeatedly appeared. This occurred during the very first attempt to use the machine.
I completed all recommended troubleshooting steps, including power cycling, resetting the machine, and inspecting the handle and grooves. There were no obstructions, and the machine had never been used prior to this issue. Despite these efforts, the issue persisted and prevented normal operation.
I contacted Cricut support and was approved for a replacement. Throughout the process, I was told that my defective brand new machine would be replaced with another brand new Cricut AutoPress. While support did ultimately approve a replacement, the documentation requirements were extensive, including multiple verification videos filmed in a single, unedited take with handwritten case numbers and visible serial numbers.
When the replacement arrived, it was not new. The machine clearly had a “REFURBISHED” sticker on the back and showed visible cosmetic damage, including scratches on the top of the machine and the pressing surface. The unit appeared to have been previously used. I did not power on or use this replacement machine.
Receiving a refurbished and visibly worn unit after purchasing a brand new machine and being told I would receive a brand new replacement was extremely frustrating. Given the price point of the Cricut AutoPress, I expected a product that worked out of the box and a replacement process that aligned with what was communicated.
This experience significantly impacted my confidence in the product and the replacement process. At this level of investment, customers reasonably expect reliable performance upon first use and clear, consistent fulfillment when issues arise.
This is very easy to use. My projects are sublimating evenly. Being able to store it standing on it's end is a major plus. It is expensive, but it is built well. We'll see how long term use keeps it together and working as it is designed to. I'm very excited to find out.
Love, love , love this press! I have issues with my hands and this press makes it so easy to use! I can't come up with a single negative to say. I do quite a few print and cut designs and this press does a beautiful job. I am about do to some sublimation and and approaching it with confidence with the press. At the time I bought the Cricur press I had one other auto press and two regular presses. I now only have the Cricut!

I called Cricut about my Easy Press which I've had for a couple of years. The auto lid doesn't stay down. I have to hold it the entire time it's pressing. It worked until it went out of warranty. The Cricut people took me through several restarts and tests. Nothing worked. It's a big paperweight now. They hung up saying, "Sorry about that!" It works sometimes at lower temps but never at 400 deg. and many times at lower temps it won't work. It decides when it will work and when it won't. An expensive over-engineered piece of junk.

Great Until It Isn't - Which Is Less Than 1 Year

I bought this machine when it first came out so paid a lot of money for it. The first one went bad in less than a year so Cricut gladly sent me a new heat press. That was less than one year ago. Two days ago, while trying to get an order done for a customer, it stopped working. It had been giving me problems (eg. kept shutting off when I'd try to turn it on, temperature wouldn't heat to set temp, etc.). Well the other night when I really needed it to work it quit working. The temperature wouldn't go past 215 degrees. I called in and was told there was nothing I could do to fix it so hauled it to the dump. I was given an extra 10% off but that's not enough for me to buy this machine when two broke in less than a year of using them. I've always loved Cricut and Loved this machine because of it's capabilities (love the auto press) but sadly I'm going elsewhere.

I bought this item, opens in day 2 and it stopped working after pressing 4 items. I was on a zoom call with a to for almost 2 hours for them to tell me a stabilization mechanism wouldn’t allow it to close. Error 43.
