Superstar Barbie 1977

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Super Star Barbie 1977 just might be the new poster girl for the 1970’s. From the soles of her hot pink platform shoes to the top of her golden blonde hair, she personifies the spirit of the 70’s; colorful, glittery and fun!
Unboxing Barbie was unnecessarily difficult and required patience and a pair of very sharp scissors. There were numerous plastic bindings that had to be snipped and the most difficult part was cutting the hair free of the plastic backing to which it was sewn. It was very difficult to cut the threads without cutting the hair. Also, the pink boa was affixed to one arm with a sticky substance that was tough to get off. There were also several fine plastic threads that had to be cut. I almost cut the necklace off thinking it was another random plastic thread.
Although the face was made of soft plastic and beautifully detailed, the make-up was much too understated for the 1970’s look. It was notable that the arms and legs were made from a different plastic than the face and torso. The legs did appear to bend but have very limited range of motion. The arms are permanently bent at the elbow which would make play difficult. The necklace does seem to have a clasp, but I did not attempt to remove it for fear of breaking it. I think the earrings and ring can also be removed but, once again, I didn’t want to pull on them to check and see.
In short, I think this Barbie is suitable for the adult collector but not for play. This girl is not play friendly!

My daughter loves this barbie so much and plays with her all the time. I highly recommend getting this doll if you like Barbies from the 70's and 80's!

What a doll!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What can I say this doll has it all! Upon opening the box my 7 year old niece immediately pounced on it . She loved everything about this doll. The gown, the lace, the hair and especially the jewels. All within 1 hour Barbie became a fashion model on the runway , a princess in a far away land and finally a mommy who just needed to make dinner for her family. She enjoyed it so very much!! My mother who was 8 years old when this doll first appeared on the scene said it brought back so many happy and nostalgic memories for her. Barbie was her all time favorite toy as a young girl and she still has many of her dolls in a curio cabinet today.

Fabulous Classic Barbie!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great Barbie, so classic 1970's! This Barbie as always, has a realistic face and classic Barbie features such as the blue eye shadow. The gorgeous flowing pink gown makes this girl special! She also has long flowing beautiful blonde hair. She's a great addition to the collection.

1977 Superstar Barbie

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just opened the Barbie yesterday, she’s beautiful. I love the long pink dress it definitely says superstar Barbie. Would definitely purchase this for my daughter. Her long blonde hair is also gorgeous.

A 1977 Classic

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Glamour Barbie 1977 is very classic however, my young granddaughters were not impressed until I explained that she is a collectible from the year my daughter was born! This made her a bit more exciting to unbox.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
