She's Perfect

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I felt like a little kid opening her up. She's as beautiful as I remember. My 8 and 10 year old daughters love the how easy it is to dress her. They really like the bent arms and the way they keep her boa is place. The jewelry and shoes stay perfectly in place but are easily removed. She is the perfect addition to any girls collection.

Barbie from the year I was born!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let me tell you, I love this Barbie! My 8 year old daughter loves it too. Barbie has a beautiful hot pink dress on and is ready to dance the night away at the local disco. My daughter loved the boa accessory and Barbie's jewelry, especially her sparkly earrings. I love that Barbie didn't have lots of makeup on and has a more natural appearance. My daughter has been playing with her and giving her different hairstyles this whole week. She told me she thinks this Superstar Barbie reminds her of the Barbie from Toy Story which she thinks is neat. The Barbie came nicely packaged with a certificate of authenticity. Definitely fun to see and play witb Barbies feom different eras. My daughter likes to see the differences in fashion styles compared to today's fashion. Overall, a great Barbie that my daighter loves playing with.

Pretty in Pink

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] What a beautiful Barbie! I was so excited to see this Barbie as it brought back so many nostalgic memories. I remember playing with this doll when I was young and the little earrings and ring immediately brought back the best memories! I love the details of the “diamond” ring, earrings and necklace. The perfect accessories to this stunning doll! The first thing that stood out to me is the beautiful bright pink gown she is wearing and the ruffle boa. The color is perfect! It is so bright and pops catching your eye immediately. The long blonde hair is just as I remembered and fun to style. My daughter began to brush and “fix” her hair as soon as she got her hands on this gorgeous Barbie. I also really love that a doll stand was included in the packaging. This has made it so incredibly easy to display when not being played with. Overall, we are very satisfied with the quality and appearance of this doll. She is just as I remembered and Barbie has definitely held up the standard of quality that I remember and that Barbie is known for. What a wonderful addition to a Barbie collection!

A wonderful reproduction!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A wonderful reproduction! I absolutely loved this doll. As someone who grew up playing with Barbies from the 60s and 70s this brought back an instant wave of nostalgia as soon as I took her out to the box. She seems very close to the original with the plastic’s texture even feeling the same. I love that her dress even has the original metal snaps from the doll clothes of the time. Her hair is super soft to the touch as well though it retains it’s glamorous style. I also appreciated that she comes packaged in very easy to remove packaging that isn’t likely to damage the doll in the process unlike so many other doll companies. My only complaint is that the doll did have an odd patch of some sort of glue like substance on one arm that I was able to scratch off, but it did leave a slight residue which is unfortunate as you can see in the pictures. I would assume that is not normal though, and most dolls would not have that. I would absolutely recommend this for any collector who has been looking to add a superstar Barbie to the collection, but isn’t able to invest to in an original, or any parents wanting to share the dolls they grew up with with the next generation.

Clicky knees has returned! I’ve missed this Barbie

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let me say first off that I’m not a collector. I’m not a person who keeps toys in boxes for value either. This doll came in today & she was stunning! My 5 year old gasp at the sight of her and said “Oh my! She’s a star!!!!!!” Never in my life have I never wanted to leave a toy in the box so badly instead of handing it over to a child lol lol!!!!!!! She was exactly what I’m remember! He face was the beautiful vintage Barbie that we all love! So let’s get down to it!
1st the box was vintage Barbie box style which was awesome! My children even commented on how much they liked the look of the box. Unboxing her was a breeze!!!!! I could get her unpackaged soooooo easily without the work of scissors! The only thing I need finger nail clipper for was to clip the plastic that connect her head and the little piece of thread by her waist band! It feels like unpacking things today is the worst so I really appreciated that.
2 Now for the Barbie!? Remember Clicky knees Barbie!!!!!! Yep she’s back & the top & bottom can move in opposite directions. My kids were screaming “watch her waist lol!!!! She moves” She even has the classic Barbie Ring!
3 Her dress was gorgeous and the pictures do not do it justice! Her shoes were also beautiful & so much better than shoes I’ve been dealing with. Easy on, easy off.
4 She comes with a stand that was well thought out. It’s easy to put her on it & it’s not one of those that holds her at the waist. It also comes with a Certificate of Authenticity which I loved. Reminded me of cabbage patch moments as a kid lol! My daughter is carrying everywhere with her lol!
5) Her hair is simple yet beautiful. My only complaint is the packaging plastic tends to leave pokey things but finger nail clippers take care of that.
All in all I love her. She’s absolutely stunning and I hope Mattel will bring back more of the old school Barbies. I’m so happy that my kids got to experience a little bit of my childhood.

Beautifully nostalgic !

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great reproduction of the 1977 classic Superstar Barbie. The design team did an an excellent job of bringing this iconic doll back for a new era of collectors . I especially love all the little details this doll has. Her jewelry is exactly the same as I remember from when I had her as a child. They did a wonderful job, re-creating the classic satin pink fashion that she originally came with . This is a wonderful doll to add to your collection as the Superstar Barbie is so recognizable. I think that this is a great doll for any type of Barbie doll collector. This doll is also great for someone that is looking for a keepsake reminder of their childhood. To be completely honest, I give this doll four stars. The doll and packaging itself are wonderful. For me at least this would’ve been a five-star doll if it had a little Barbie doll collector booklet. Those tiny little booklets that showed all the other dolls and fashions of that era would’ve been wonderful as it would’ve completely reminded me of the joy of opening a Barbie doll when I was a child.

Superstar Barbie IS a Superstar

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This doll is not only beautiful but colorful. The packaging is bright and sparkles and catches your eye. The dress itself is heavy and made of good material.The boa is long and intricate and really pulls the dress together. There is weight to this doll and her arms and legs move easily though I wish her arms were straight or moveable. Her make up is subtle which surprised me as she is supposed to be a superstar. The clasps on the shoes don't make sense and look weird and her hair looks like a mess when out of the box because of how it was packaged. Hair looks nothing like picture on box which could deceive kids. All the things I personally see wrong are minor and would be happy to purchase this doll in any store the way it is.

mattel did much better with the 2008 superstar barbie release, the face was identical to the original from 1977, I have the original one in my collection and this time they did not capture the face at all. very disappointed .
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
