I love this model. It’s big and heavy so the retractable wheels in the base makes it easy to roll it out and spin it around for a filter change. Adjustable features allow me to make my espresso just how I like it. the steam wand makes good micro foam mIilk, too.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Descaling Issues
on December 28, 2023

There’s a chance this Dual Boiler can blow a thermal fuse (or worse, the heating element) in the steam boiler when descaling. This causes the dreaded “three beeps” (just Google it for endless stories and info). Descaling is a normal process designed to clean the machine from scale built up over time.

(+) Capabilities, User Friendly. (-): Short Circuit, Leaky Valves; 2.5 yr. lifespan, waste of money

Prior to purchasing the Dual Boiler, I had an excellent experience with the Breville Barista Express BES870XL. It functioned flawlessly and delivered consistent espresso shots. The Dual Boiler appears to be an inferior product build despite its amazing capabilities. A quick internet search yields a multitude of users who have experienced the same issues: a leaky steam wand valve, O-ring issues, and electrical short circuits which activate the home's circuit breakers & cause GCFI interruption.
Within 4 months of the Dual Boiler's first usage, the steam wand began hissing, and a significant amount of water began leaking onto the countertop. Today (2 years and some months later), I experienced multiple GCFI outlet failures and a tripped breaker switch at my electrical panel. As I began researching the issue, I found several users who have experienced the same issue. It seems that leaking gaskets, o-rings, and perhaps other parts lie at the problem's root. The issues subsequently cause short circuit issues.
I would not recommend this product for purchase. Breville's policy does not include a replacement or free repairs past the warranty period. I get it! However, the volume of leaky steam wand & electrical short circuit reports should be grounds for an exception. It seems that systematic production issues, parts defects, design flaws, or a combination thereof, have wrecked a machine with amazing capabilities.

I love this espresso machine. It has all the features that make it easy to make a great espresso drink, and the dual boiler makes switching from brew mode to steam mode instantaneous...No waiting for anything to heat up! I have had this machine for 6 years and durability has been a bit of an issue (i have had a couple of internal leaks), but Breville's support has been excellent and I would definitely buy this product again.
Hands down the best purchase I made for my wife and I. We both enjoy the world of coffee, and this is a MUST to have! The double boiler is worth every penny! It takes some time to learn, but once you're dialed in, it's a coffee experience like none other! We also purchased the Smart Grinder to pair with it.
Like having my cappuccino from a coffee house. Quiet operation and it takes less time to make a coffee than my BES840XL which I have used for 3 years without any problems.
