Don't buy this garbage. Purchased a unit in 2019 for my self and another unit as wedding gift. Both machines now have the exact same issue. No matter what function, it stoped working after 5 seconds.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I recently purchased the Breville Barista Pro and couldn't be happier! As a beginner I found it extremely easy to get dialed in for a perfect coffee in just a few tries. I love being able to make amazing espresso in just minutes, plus it tastes waaay better than the chain coffee shops, no bitter, burnt taste whatsoever.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This has been a great upgrade from the Bambino. I love that it heats up almost instantly and the timer helps dial things in. I use a scale to help with dosing. I do wish the steam wand was slightly more powerful, but I can get it to work well for lattes.

I wanted an espresso machine that was easy to use (for beginner) but good enough to evolve with. I have had good luck with Breville small appliances in the past. I left the internal burr at setting 6 and just used the external adjustments. Left the factory dosing on the buttons. Getting great espresso with a fresh roast medium bean. Around grind setting 22 to get a shot out in about 30 seconds. Probably more liquid than the recommended 36g for 18g of coffee but it tastes good with hot water or milk in a late. My machine came with a flush disc that had a hole in it, called Breville and they will send me one without the hole when it comes in stock at no charge. If you are on the fence this machine is worth considering. Heat up time is almost instant and just run a blank shot or two through to heat up. If you use the hot water spout it does go through water quickly. Wish it had a larger tank or front access to fill it up (like the more expensive machines).
