As a former barista and barista trainer I've made espresso at home and/or work for over 20 years. I've owned many machines and have grown to love Breville for use at home.
My last machine was a Barista Express, it has served me well for 7 years, a lifetime for a consumer machine, averaging 4-6 beverages a day. It's finally died and I took a step up to the Barista Pro.
Wow, I almost feel guilty at how easy it makes it to make a great latte and pull a beautiful shot. It took me less than 5 minutes to dial it in, I was prepared to spend hours and several pounds of coffee.
Do yourself a favor, pick one up, give it a run. You won't be disappointed.

The Baristas tend to all break down after about 2 years. I know several people with the same experience. At this price point, this should not happen. Don't recommend to anyone who wants something that will last year's to come. Breville does not stand behind its products to rectify the issue. They try to just upsell you another unit.

With this machine, you get what you paid for: it combines a frother and grinder with an espresso maker. It gives you the ability to make a variety of professional-grade beverages, with a minimum of fuss. It is easy to use and allows for very specific customization. And it looks great on your counter!

Do not buy this machine

Having reading all the positive reviews of this machine, I was really looking forward to having a great replacement for my old Rancillio espresso machine. I bought the Barista Pro just over a month ago, and from day 1 I have been having problems. First, it was the temperature of the coffee, which despite me setting it to the maximum hot temperature, is not hot at all, and now, with just after a month of use, the grinder has stopped working. I googled to see if others have had problems with the coffee temperatures, and it looks to be a frequent complaint…..with the only suggestions being to warm your coffee mug with hot water first. When should that ever be necessary with a coffee machine? ….nor did it really make much of a difference when I did it. I phoned Breville Canada support and they were less than helpful. Do not buy this machine!

I've had no issues with this product. Does exactly what I want it to with no issues. You do have to know what you're doing though, it's not for amateurs.
