I have not found the hearing aids to be much help. I have loss in the range above 2 khz and have not been able to find how to increase the gain in that region. When I turn up the volume, the signal does not get louder overall, but at the higher frequency end, the clicks and pops get much stronger. The tone control also does not seem to adjust the range from 2 to 4 khz which is where I need it. I phoned the help line, and they answered promptly and were courteous and tried to be helpful, but no luck.
OK when they work. Have had < 2 months and already had to delete and reinstall software on my iphone. The app says the right one has no charge, but it works?? Had to set the smaller ear canal guard and the longer wire (#3) even though I am only 5'6".
They work - the difference to me has been meaningful Good for those with modest to medium hearing loss Affordable Easy to buy Easy to use
Cons
Earpiece toggle switches work but don't discernibly 'toggle'. You really need the smartphone app for everything (not necessarily a negative).
Pairing takes a moment and requires a press of the two (accursed) toggle switches, but you get used to it. Always open the app before you try to pair.
Incompatible with significant sweat or water.
Conclusion
I would buy them again. As speaker design moves to speaker-on-a-chip and other components miniaturize further in the next couple of years it will be interesting to see how Lexie's offerings evolve viz-a-viz offerings from newer, larger competitors in the space. Lexie is off to a great start.
I am enjoying the "new" sounds I had grown accustomed to missing. I knew there were audio frequencies I was blind to and dismissed them as unimportant or of any use. I have found, however, that those missing sounds are a big part of enjoying life.
I really like these. Once you get the learning curve out of the way, you’ll forget you have them in. This is a quality product from Bose and sound accordingly. Absolutely no regrets.
I chose these over others because, structurally and electrically, they made more sense than others. I bought hearing aids in general at the urging of my family.
