new OLED 83 G2

Picture is excellent. I bought late May 2022. Few quirks: doesn't always turn on the first try may take two tries. Has odd ripple distortions in reflections when turned off but doesn't effect picture quality. I really dislike the LG website which makes you literally scroll through hundreds of TV models to find yours in order to comment. Common people just let us enter our model number.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The increase from 77 to 83 inches was exactly what I needed. A refinement on a nearly perfect product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you’ve been holding onto an older TV and biding time for the perfect upgrade, as I was for nearly a decade, then it’s time to celebrate. The long wait is over, as LG’s G2 OLED delivers a breathtaking viewing experience inside a slim and sophisticated package.
Coming from a plasma TV, I already enjoyed the benefits of a high-contrast picture, but the G2 takes things to a whole new level. Its OLED panel has astonishing range, from absolute black to piercing bright white, without any of the blooming or haloing effects that show up on other screen technologies. In addition, the G2’s colors appear beautifully vibrant and yet perfectly natural, free of any artificial emphasis or exaggeration.
LG’s webOS smart TV interface is among the best that I’ve used, despite its somewhat over-cluttered home screen. All of the major streaming platforms are available here, and everything feels very quick and responsive. I especially like that LG’s motion-control Magic Remote adds intuitive point-and-click capabilities to all my favorite streaming apps. Picking a show and fast-forwarding to a specific moment has never been easier.
Physically, the G2 is beautifully made yet surprisingly lightweight and easy to handle. Wall-mounting hardware is included, but a table-top stand is available separately, and the TV also accepts 300mm VESA attachments. Connectivity is excellent, with all four HDMI 2.1 ports supporting the TV’s complete feature set (essential for modern gaming consoles). HDMI-ARC sound output to my AV receiver works well, although I do wish that the TV could handle DTS sound formats or at least pass them through.
Overall, I couldn’t be happier with the LG G2. It’s simply a joy to behold, and the OLED panel’s uncompromising picture quality has re-awakened my passion for watching TV and movies at home.

LG Has Done It Again!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this new LG OLED Evo 4K TV and it has not disappointed. Set up was super easy and the TV picture is awesome. We were amazed how thin the TV was considering the amazing picture quality. We went and purchased the LG sound bar to go with TV and was blown away how thin it was as well. The TV and sound bar compliment each other and the sound is amazing.
I thought the slim TV may not meet expectations, however, I realized very quickly that is not the case. The TV exceeded expectations. It is hard to watch other TV's after LG set the bar high. I believe this TV will not disappoint the toughest critic .

The Pinnacle Of LG OLEDs

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For the past year, we have been the proud owners of the 2021 LG 48C1 OLED. We did not think there could possibly be any room left for improvement, but the 2022 LG 65G2 has proven us wrong. The image produced is incredibly bright. The brightest OLED display we have ever seen. Every single detail can be seen whether we are watching it on a sunny afternoon, or a midnight movie marathon with all the lights off. The infinite contrast between every adjacent pixel means that every image just seems to pop off the screen. The little details you never knew were there in movies you've watched a dozen times before never fail to delight, making what's old seem new once again. The initial setup was a breeze, offering us the ability to complete the process via the included Magic Remote or via the LG ThinQ app on our phones. Within minutes we had registered the TV to our existing LG account, and moved through the logins/passwords for all of our favorite streaming services. Each of the most-loved/popular streaming apps are available to you directly on the TV, with no need to connect an external streaming device. We particularly enjoy watching 60-frame-per-second 4k HDR videos. We have seen streams with bandwidth as high as 215MBit/second over wifi, so I can attest that the built-in WiFi works extremely well, several rooms away from the router. We tend to keep the TV in "Filmmaker Mode," as that presents the images exactly as the creators intended for them to be viewed with minimal-to-no processing. The video quality is mind-blowing. We have seen no evidence of black crush, with plenty of detail found in the shadows regardless of video source. For audio, we have not yet hooked the TV up to a soundbar, but we have chosen to use the "A.I. Sound Pro" feature because it really seems to amplify the sound in an intelligent way that adds to our listening experience. I think the feature that plays sound from the TV which is then recorded by the microphones in the Magic Remote in order to learn about the acoustics of your room is simply next-level technology. Everything just works. I highly recommend you trying that out. We have a current-generation gaming console hooked up to one of the 4k120 HDMI ports, and the handful of games we've seen running at 4k120FPS is a glimpse into the future, but today. We also appreciate the Game Optimizer function that automatically switches on when the console is used. Every member of our family, from 9 to 40 simply loves this TV
