Reliable and accurate

I have owned my big Joe for more than 10 years, I think. I’m completely satisfied with it. I have cooked just about every kind of meat. You can imagine on it, from brisket to salmon, and it has never failed me. It comes up to the right temperature quickly and easily, and it holds that temperature literally for half a day. On some cooks that have gone six hours or more, I’ve set the temperature and put the meat on, and left the house to go play golf all day. When I come back, the temperature in the Joe is just where I left. It’s quite amazing.

Other grills can't compete

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given my KJ from a cousin who had been given it from my great uncle. They both said it took too long to heat up to cook and said I could have it. My dad has a BGE so I knew the magic of Kamado grills. I got the grill from my cousin and realized that he had been using briquettes and that all the ash kept the air holes of the charcoal plate clogged. It's hard to make heat without air! I love the grill and cook on it every week. Anything from Eastern NC bbq to leg quarters and meatloaf. The only upgrade that I've added was a stainless steel top vent in case it rained during a cook and it has worked out great. Now I want Big Joe for larger gatherings!
