Great grill, requires practice

This grill is great as long as you spend time to understand everything it does and does not do.
Upper and lower vents may trick you and you get your cooking area too hot or too cold.
Also smoke might be an issue if you dont use the proper amount and type of charcoal.
Overall it is great, but requires practice.

I was extremely intimidated by these grills but heard so many great reviews from people that I decided to jump in feet first… I love it! There is an adjustment going from propane to the classic Joe but man is it worth the hype! The taste, versatility and built quality are phenomenal!

Never have I had a good outcome with smoking ribs, briskets, or pork shoulders until I received my Classic Joe as a Christmas present from my thoughtful wife. Using charcoal chunks and various hard woods for flavoring became a game changer. It didn't take long to learn how to control temperatures and operate the grill safely. I have recommended this grill to friends and family. Give up the gas!
