My traveling companion

Best Grill Ever!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have bought several charcoal grills throughout the years. However, they always tended to rust out after several years of use. Also, it was always a struggle to get them hot enough to ever get a nice sear on a steak or to have the charcoal last long enough to do a long smoke like what is needed for brisket. All of this changed when I bought my Big Joe. I was on the fence about investing in a Kamado type of grill. I spent some time researching out various models from different companies and finally settled on the Big Joe. I am so glad that I did! To me, what set them apart from other Kamado grills is their innovation. For example, with some of the competitors, it took a bit of work to lift the lid on their Kamado. However, with the design of the Big Joe, I could literally lift the lid with one finger. Kamado Joe is always striving to innovate where some of their competitors are stuck in the past doing things the way they always did. That relentless search for perfection is what sets Kamado Joe apart from their competition. I have had my Big Joe for years now and can't imagine having any other grill. I can grill, bake, smoke and even make pizza on it. My family often refuses to go out for steak now because they would rather me grill them on my Big Joe. There is something so special about getting the grill up to 800 to 1000 degrees, throwing a steak on the cast iron grate and hearing that steak sizzle as you create that restaurant-quality sear on it. I have never been able to do that in the past with my other grills. Kamado Joe also offers many different accessories that allow you to be so versatile in your grilling experience. From griddles to pizza stones, it is truly an amazing tool. It is indeed the best grill that I have ever owned!
