[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased my OG Joe 9.5 years ago. She has stood the test of time- In my opinion, bone in Chicken with light smoke is legit- ribs - fish- sausage- roast you name it you can can grill/smoke it on the Joe- I did have to replace my inside heat shields - but after that amount of time and as much as I use it - I feel that is acceptable.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased my Kamado Joe Classic in 2016. It is still my goto cooker for grilling and smoking. Everything from chicken to steaks to pork chops to pork butts turns out moist and with great taste. Most people don’t realize the Kamado Joe is pretty much self cleaning. No disassemble required to remove built up grease, no scrubbing the interior to remove accumulations of cooking residues. Just close the dome and let it do the job while the charcoal is still hot. Sure, there is ash to clean but out all that is needed is an inexpensive paint brush to sweep the ash into the ash bin in the bottom of the KJ. After nine years of use I have no regrets choosing the Kamado Joe Classic over a pellet grill.

Just over a year ago I decided to cook dinner at least 4 times a week on the Joe Jr for the two of us. That effort became and everyday occurrence the first week. We've stocked our freezer with individually portioned sized meats, from steaks cut down to a smaller serving to boneless chicken thighs, hamburger patties, pork chops, fish fillets, etc. Every single night we each choose one protein, one vegetable and share a salad. This accidentally led to us cooking with zero waste (as in no leftovers) and we've each dropped at least 20 lbs. because of the elimination of overly processed foods. I bought a taller stand with casters and easily roll the Joe Jr. in and out of my garage each evening, keeping it out of the weather. The only time I don't use my Joe Jr. is when I'm using my Classic Joe because I'm feeding more people than just us. With the reduced weight, healthier foods and electric savings (yeah, the lump charcoal IS cheaper than electricity) I can honestly say my Joe Jr. has become a life saver. A delicious, delicious life saver.
