A bit dated, but love it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased a used Kamado Joe 4 years ago. (from a little old lady who'd had it for years, but rarely used it. perfect purchase). Didn't know a thing about ceramic grills/smokers, but it looked like a quality item. Boy am I hooked! I've smoked so many racks of ribs and grilled even more meals. I highly recommend this quality grill.

Instead of heating up your kitchen

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bake my daily sourdough loaf in my Joe Jr. Then I tend to use it all day long to either smoke my dinner meat, or later in the day, I can cook something at a higher heat. It sure beats warming up my kitchen in the summer. I have purchased Joe Jrs. for both of my daughters.

Perfect size

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you only need a small grill for 2 people this is the best grill/smoker ever. holds a constant temperature for hours and is so easy to control. I have smoked many different meats for 8 hours without haveing to add any coal and all.

Don't buy a knock-off Kamado Joe

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My friend recommended getting a ceramic grill. I couldn't afford a real Kamado Joe so I bought a knock-off. The build quality of that grill was pretty poor, like it was made in a bad part of China. It didn't come with any accessories and the lid didn't line up with the grill body. Too soon a part inside the grill cracked.
When I came across a REAL Kamado Joe on sale I jumped on the opportunity. This grill is considerably heavier than the knock-off and as I was assembling it I could see and feel that the build quality was way higher, plus it came with all the accessories too!
I was wondering if I would get a better cook on this and WOW was I pleased with my first cooks! I made some burnt ends and later I cooked a brisket and everything I've made on this grill has come out much better than kn my knock-off.
In the future I hope to acquire the other sizes of Kamado Joe grills. No more wasting time and money on knock-offs!
