The kamado Joe classic 3 is my first introduction to smoking food, I didn't bother buying something cheaper first and work my way up to a premium unit. Glad I didn't waste my money on anything else!

It’s HUGE, and heavy! Extremely well built, and utilizes very good materials.
Ensure you have another person with you if you plan on utilizing the stand. It’s awkward, and like I said, heavy. You may even do well to have a third person on, “Stand by” just incase you need yet another pair of hands to assist.
Finally, the directions on the proper way to place the inserts is less than stellar. I can’t tell you how long I attempted to install the inserts until I figured out to utilize the metal ring. The ring not only kept everything in place, but also closed any gaps I was originally running into.

I have only had 4 or 5 cooks so far and I am impressed with the ability to maintain a low fire for 18 to 20 hours with out adding fuel.
I picked this grill because of the quality and long life expectancy, only time will tell. From what I have seen so far it should live up to my expectations.
Packaging is more than adequate for shipping and SEF are pros at delivering, you will need help getting it to the backyard and look to youtube on how to lift it.
Would be useful for rack storage on the sides of the legs.

Our Joe Classic arrived two days before Christmas. So far I have cooked; bone on prime rib, ribeyes, chicken, filet mignon, pizza, smash burgers, pork ribs, round roast, baked potatoes and vegetables. It is hands down the best and most versatile piece of cooking equipment I have owned.

The instructions for unpacking the Kamado Joe are _inside_ the grill, so you won’t be able to read them until _after_ you’ve unpacked it! Watching an inboxing video would probably help a lot.

This is hands down my favorite purchase I’ve ever made. When you compare it to other kamado grills, the cooks are pretty equal, but it’s in the accessories and features where Kamado Joe rises above the rest of the pack. Other Kamado grills will nickle and dime you to death making you buy all these extra accessories a la carte, but Kamado Joe understands that if you’re investing this much into a grill, it’s nice to throw in those extra. And the features destroy other Kamado grills. From the spring loaded lid, to the included aluminum cart on wheels and the grill side tables, to the ash tray (game changer since other grills are much more cumbersome to clean out the ash) to the extraordinary Slo Roller, this grill easily rises above the rest. And I highly recommend buying their lump charcoal and wood products as well. I also have almost every grilling surface from them and I have not been disappointed. Buy this grill NOW. You will not regret it. I’ve had it for 6 weeks and have cooked at least four days a week on it.
