Big Joe is what you need when the family arrives

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had my Big Joe III since early summer, and it is incredible the amount of food you can cook. For July 4th had 6 slabs of St Louis ribs on, enough for 8 adults and my 6 grandkids. It heats up faster than I would have thought for its size, and the heat retention and temperature stability are a game changer. I have an offset smoker that I have used for years, and while it is awesome it is a labor of love, feeding new wood in every 30 min or so and constantly tending the fire to maintain temp. If all you have to do is sit by the smoker that is fine, but that stopped working for me at least with the grandkids wanting to play and have fun. I can now get the Big Joe to temp in about 15-20 minutes, put on the food, insert a probe and go have fun. Even coming back 2 hours later the Big Joe is sitting nicely at the desired temp, and don't even get me started on how good the food is! So far 3 beer can chickens at same time, amazing, slow roller (yep, comes with the Big Joe III) pork, reverse sear steaks and for this weekend (Labor Day) a pair of Joetisserie chickens are on tap (smaller crowd this time). Clean up is so easy compared to my offset smoker, and the quality of the Kamado Big Joe is superb. Clear instructions for assembly, heavy duty materials, and a terrific design add up to this is a grill that is going to go the distance for me (my offset is 22 years old and still going strong, and I have no doubt the Kamado will still be cooking up great meals for my kids and grandkids when I'm gone. If you like the flavor of food cooked over charcoal and smoke (which should be everyone who has ever compared something from a Kamado to same food from a propane grill) then get on board and join team Kamado! Now if only it came in blue (GO BLUE), yea, I went to U of Michigan and I do have an issue with silver and red (if you know you know).

Perfect for Slow Cooking

But, I've looked at Kamado Joe grills for years and I finally got the grill of my bbq dreams - the Big Joe 3. We splurged and picked up the largest version in order to cook many things at once. It's the perfect addition to my outside kitchen as we entertain family and friends. I totally love it. Kamado grills are high quality and they thought of everything! I highly recommend this grill to all my friends and family!

Great, versitile grill

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had my Big Joe Series 3 for over 2 and a half years and I LOVE it! I'm able to do so much more than I ever was on any of my gas grills - grill steaks, burgers, etc; roast chickens; smoke ribs, pork butts, etc; even bake in it! Once you get the hang of temperature control, it's so easy to make a wide variety of delicious food that has that authentic outdoor, charcoal/wood fire flavor. I would suggest Smokin' Dad BBQ's temperature control guide & videos to shorten that learning curve. I have recommended a Kamado Joe to several people and will continue to do so without hesitation. It was somewhat expensive, but I'm pretty sure that it's the last grill I'll ever need to buy. No replacing gas grills that rust away every few years.

Go to for long cooks

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I typically use my big Joe for long cooks. The most fuel efficient cooker I’ve ever used.. I’ve got a big family and typically cook for 30ish people. I wind up doing the cooking because everyone loves the flavor and tenderness that comes off this grill. Once I get my temps set, I rarely adjust the vents. If you like long cooks and want capacity, this is the most fool proof grill you could own

My most versatile grill

It performs great and always gives an awesome flavor. I have a ton of grills but if I could only keep one, it would be this.
