[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you're looking for the grill you've always dreamed of, your quest ends with a Big Joe III! It's got everything you'll need: tops in performance, features, capacity, flexibility, quality... It's really hard to hit the bull's eye on three, much less four, of these arenas, but the folks at KJ really nailed with the BJIII: they stuck the landing on all five!
Performance is there: it'll reach- and accurately hold- any temperatures you need, all the way from low-and-slow cooks up to inferno mode and searing. Unlike a lot of other competing grills, BJ III comes with all the features/ accessories you'll need to get started grilling. Of course, you'll want to add accessories, but what comes with the grill will more than get you started on your way to grilling happiness.
Capacity? No problem! This thing is big enough for 5 - 6 (or more) racks of ribs, huge briskets, or maybe even an ostrich. Flexibility for all kinds of cooks (e.g., rotisserie, low-and-slow, open fire, you name it) is easy with this grill.
Finally, quality: you're going to love the fit and finish of this thing. All of the materials and workmanship are first-rate. It's already stood up to the rigors of year-round grilling in the balmy weather of Chicago. Minus 18 degree F outside? That might be a problem for the grill chef, but it won't be for the grill: I know firsthand...
In short, if you're looking for the top of the mountain when it comes to grills, look no further- this is the last grill you'll ever have to buy. Until, of course, KJ comes out with Big Joe IV!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had my Kamado Joe Classic Series III for almost four years and am still excited to use it every time because of the results in the food I cook on it. I love the versatility and ability to smoke at 225 for 12 hours without refueling, grill/roast/rotisserie at 450, or cook a pizza at 700 all with the same grill. The grill is high quality and so are the accessories. I know it's charcoal, but don't let that get in your way. It is easy to light and easy to control. The flavor is like no other. My family loves dinner from the grill. I can't say enough good things about this product.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this two years ago and have loved it! It is a large smoker/grill but I have been happy I got this size. There are times when I need all of the space. The flavor the Kamado produces is excellent! I am to the point I can cook better tasting food than going out to eat.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Kamado Joe Big Joe III is more than just a grill—it’s a culinary powerhouse that has transformed my cooking experience. As someone who loves hosting family gatherings, neighborhood events, and celebrating special occasions, this grill has become an indispensable part of my outdoor cooking arsenal. What I Like: 1. Versatility: The Big Joe III is like having a Swiss Army knife for grilling. It’s not just a grill; it’s a smoker, a roaster, and even a pizza oven. From slow-smoked briskets to perfectly seared steaks, this grill handles it all. 2. Generous Cooking Area: With its large cooking surface, I can prepare meals for a crowd without feeling cramped. Whether it’s Thanksgiving dinner or a summer barbecue, there’s ample space to cook everything simultaneously. 3. Smart Design: The fiberglass gasket and thick ceramic shell create a tightly sealed grill that locks in heat and moisture. Plus, the air-lift hinge makes opening and closing the lid a breeze. 4. SloRoller Hyperbolic Smoke Chamber: This innovative feature ensures even smoke distribution, resulting in mouthwatering flavors. My ribs, chicken, and pulled lamb shoulder have never tasted better. 5. Temperature Control: The Big Joe III maintains consistent temperatures, whether I’m slow-cooking overnight or searing steaks at high heat. It’s a precision instrument for grillmasters.
What I Don’t Like (Honestly, It’s Hard to Find Faults): 1. It’s BIG!: Well, the name says it all. The Big Joe III is substantial, so make sure you have enough space in your backyard. But trust me, the cooking real estate is worth it. Cooking Adventures with the Big Joe III
Let me share some memorable cooking experiences: 1. Smoked Beef Ribs: Tender, juicy, and infused with smoky goodness. The SloRoller made these ribs unforgettable. 2. Pulled Pork: The Big Joe III turned a pork shoulder into melt-in-your-mouth perfection. The bark was incredible! 3. Steaks, Surf and Turf: Whether it’s a ribeye or a lobster tail, the grill’s versatility shines. Perfect grill marks every time. 4. Roast Dinner: Imagine a whole chicken with crispy skin, roasted veggies, and that unmistakable charcoal flavor. The Big Joe III delivers. 5. Moroccan Style Pulled Lamb Shoulder: Exotic spices, slow-cooked tenderness—my guests raved about this dish. 6. Ribs, Chicken Pieces, Rolled Lamb Leg, Even Cold Smoked Bacon: The possibilities are endless. Final Thoughts The Kamado Joe Big Joe III isn’t just a grill; it’s a lifestyle upgrade. It has never failed me, whether it’s a sunny summer day or a chilly winter evening. If you’re serious about outdoor cooking, this grill is your ticket to culinary greatness.
Pros: Excellent build quality, unmatched versatility, and food that speaks for itself.
Cons: None that I can think of—except maybe that it’s so good, your neighbors might start inviting themselves over for dinner!
So, fire up the Big Joe III, gather your loved ones, and let the flavors unfold. Happy grilling!
