Good options, but one critical flaw

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unit came included with new construction DR Horton home. After a period of 6 months, it started leaking. Technician informed us that the leak is from a flawed fabric softener dispenser. The technician also told us that cannot be repaired and has seen this problem on the same unit in multiple other households. In order to prevent any leaks, you must NOT use the fabric softener dispenser. We typically like to use fabric softener, so we ended up purchasing the Downey Ball fabric softener dispenser. Everything else with the unit works fine & has other great options; however, i do not think the fabric softener dispensing mechanism should fail within 6 months of use on a new unit. Unsure if it is worth replacing with a new unit if the same issue is likely to occur, unless Frigidaire has come out with some type of replacement recall that i am unaware of.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this set one year ago. It seemed to have most of the features we needed. we were going from a Frigidaire front loader to this. This machine is just ok does not seen to do a good job cleaning, the fabric softener dispenser is problematic they have fixed it once but it still tends to clog up. The most annoying issue with this machine is you constantly have to reset it or power it up and down to make any changes to the settings. It's time consuming annoying. This just does not seem to be up to Frigidaire's standard of quality, it really kind of lack luster and not that great of a machine. Actually it's been a disappointing purchase. I have never been disappointed with a Frigidaire product.

Hi, Bd123! Thank you for taking the time out to share your feedback with us. A tip that can assist with your cleaning matter is to ensure that you are using you high efficincy detergent and the correct based on the load instructions for the laundry detergent.
The fabric softener dispenser on a top- or front-loading washing machine can become soiled through the machine's normal usage. Fabric softener, soap, and grime that moves through the washing machine can build up and clog the fabric softener dispenser, rendering it blocked and useless. Cleaning it often can prevent this from happening. You are able to view any cleaning tips in your manual with the following link, http://manuals.frigidaire.com/prodinfo_pdf/Webster/A07504301Aen.pdf.
If this does not resolve your cleaning concerns, feel free to chat with us by going to www.frigidaire.com or call us at 1-800-374-4432 Monday-Friday 8:30 am-8 pm EST.
Kindly, Ciara

The cycles on this washer are a JOKE!
on April 15, 2020
Posted by: CountryHoosier
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this right after Christmas and I wish I could return it and go get the Maytag from Lowes!! I require a hand wash cycle and this one is LABELED with a hand wash cycle, but it most definitely is NOT a hand wash cycle and it is destroying my clothes!! The agitation is just as rough as any other cycle and it is not intermittent like a true hand wash cycle is supposed to be!
The agitator only has one speed, no matter what cycle you put it on. Also, there is no point in evenly distributing your clothes around the agitator because it will pile them all up in a dry heap before it even starts filling with water.
Normal cycle is to be avoided unless you have a very small load because it never fills with enough water. You have to choose bulky or heavy duty in order for the machine to fill with enough water to wash your loads. Even then, it might not fill with the correct amount of water. It usually fills with too much water or not enough water. Seldom does it get it just right! You can trick the machine into filling with enough water if you soak at least one piece of clothing in the load first, or just pour a gallon of water into the tub so that it weighs more. Any time it doesn't fill with enough water, I have to pause it and pour in more water my own self. There really needs to be an option to "custom fill" or to "add more water" because the machine is pretty stupid.
The end of cycle sound is a joke too!! Unless you stay in the laundry room, you will never hear it. It's just a tiny little sound. What a joke! Oh, and don't be in a hurry to get a load washed.... it takes at least an hour, and often takes more like 75 minutes!
I have not seen my water bill or my electric bill go down significantly, so I don't think it's saving much energy, but then there are more factors than just the washer that effect those, so who knows.
There are a few good points to make. For one, the machine stays balanced and doesn't shake the whole mobile home when it spins like the older machines do. The tub is HUGE and that is nice so that I can wash my extra big blanket and my bedspread and a bigger load of towels or jeans. I like the design, but I hate that the lid locks while the water is filling because I have to wait for some water to fill, pause, then reach down to the bottom and rinse the fabric softener cap before I can put it back on the bottle. What a royal pain! I should be able to rinse the lid in the water running into the machine. Why does the lid need to be locked for that? Stupid.
If this was something I could just put in my vehicle and return to the store, it would have been returned the first time I used the hand wash cycle!!! I can deal with the rest, but I cannot have my machine destroying my hand wash clothes and I'm stuck with this and there's nothing I can do about it.

the smart (not very smart) washing machine
on November 12, 2020
Posted by: Your fav laundry guy
If you are used to selecting your own settings to wash your clothes you should probably forget about it. This washing machine attempts to figure out how much water you need by agitating the load without water first. Often, this causes the clothing to bunch up and trigger the E5 unlevel load setting and stop it altogether. I have had this happen 3 or 4 times on a load and you have to reset it each time. Then when it does decide to work, it often doesn't even get all the items wet during the 1st cycle. The only override is to put it on "Maxi Fill" but that only works on certain cycles. Oh and it leaks. I was impressed at first but this thing is a stinker.

Hello, Valued Consumer!
Thank you for providing your feedback. We always want to know when one of our owners needs help, and we may have some solutions for this exact issue. For the best washing performance, ensure that the dry load is loaded with smaller items first and then the larger items. Do not overload the washer, the clothes should not be higher than the upper holes in the tub. For the leaking that you are experiencing, please ensure that the water hoses are tightly connected, and the drain pipe is installed correctly. If this doesn’t resolve your concerns, please feel free to chat with us online at Frigidaire.com or contact us via phone at 800-374-4432 Monday-Friday, 8:30 am- 8:00 pm EST. -Katrina

Nice looking machine

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the washing machine but the cycles are really long. I’ve pressed each type of wash cycle but it doesn’t matter, it’s still a long wash. I’ve had small loads & the cycle is still at least 45-60 minutes.
Response from frigidaire.comBy Katrina, Outline Outreach Specialist, January 18, 2021
Hello, Onz1!

Broke in less than 3 years
on April 28, 2021
Posted by: Benbo
This model came with our house build. We have had to call a service tech twice in less than three years. This second time, the clutch went out which is a special order (i.e. could take weeks to arrive) expensive part. After doing the math, it makes more sense to buy a new one than to get the part replaced. The unit worked OK when in service but just not reliable. The first breakdown occurred two weeks after our warranty expired and this latest break down is less than 3 years. Not a great product.
