Disappointed

I've been a quip user for a long time. I have weak/receding gums and liked the gentleness of this brush. I also really like not having to charge it, and the thin size. However, I don't know if it was something I did, but it has slowly stopped working. A new battery did not fix it. Sometimes it vibrates for a few seconds and stops. Sometimes it gives me about 7 quick vibrations and then shuts off. Other times it just doesn't turn on at all. This has been the case for the last several months. Maybe quip is sending dead batteries or very old batteries. I don't know. But at this point its not worth it, and I just canceled my plan.
I have never been particular about tooth brushes and brushing has always been an unpleasant experience plagued by the risk of throwing up due to a sensitive gag reflex. The size and shape of this tooth brush has alleviated that risk and easily back to twice a day. The timer and the pauses every 30 seconds help keep for a consistent brush as well.
For the most part everything here is usable and friendly. I like the simple design and daily application of it. Brush works as intended, head is hard to remove. Gum is great for between meals, mouth wash great but make sure to dilute. Only thing I love but don’t like it is the floss. The packaging is awesome, and how it works but the floss is too weak. I stopped using it and continued to use my standard floss because the floss snaps every time. Get the water flosser instead. I might soon once I have the cash
What can I say? I'm a simple person, I see a black toothbrush I order it but I also love the fact that the smart motor encourages me to take better care of my teeth by rewarding me! Just very wonderful and simplistic. Only reason I gave it four stars is because I love using the cover as a way to keep the brush on my mirror and out of the way and for some reason the adhesive does not work well on this one but that could just be the one mishap that I just got out of a bad batch.
I really wanted to like this toothbrush and even tried it for a whole year, but I had to let it go. I noticed that my teeth were never left actually clean, food would still be stuck on my teeth, between my teeth, and in my gum line. I felt like my dental floss was working over time to take off debris that the tooth brush should have taken off. I bought an Oral B toothbrush that spins and used it on the lower setting and afterwards saw that my teeth were actually clean and all the debris the Quip failed to clear had been cleaned off. My dental floss didn't have to work as hard to clean the actual tooth, just the in between areas. This toothbrush is just too gentle, too gentle that it leaves you with debris that can than turn to tartar and do more harm than good in the long run. I only use it now when traveling, but will stick to Oral B for my everyday good clean.
I really wanted to love this product after all the reviews I had read, but unfortunately when I took it out of the box and used it for the first time it turned off after 3 seconds. I figured the battery may have needed to be replaced, so I bought new batteries and replaced it but still had the same result. Very disappointed.
Quip is the same as any other electric toothbrush except that it isn't ugly as..an electric toothbrush. It's simple in feign, but pleasing. Even comes with a built in travel case! It functions just as well as a regular electric toothbrush as well, in that its most important feature is the timer. 2 minutes to brush your teeth, in quadrants. Also, being battery operated you don't have to worry about plugging it in and having extra cords going everywhere.
And the toothpaste, surprisingly, is amazing. Not sure why, we just enjoy the way it makes out mouths feel.
