This is our third Blackstone and by far our fave. We just don’t cook outside as much as we thought we would. We use this indoor griddle for every meal now. It’s been a great addition. So much so that we’re giving away our old outdoor version. Not only do we have fun cooking, cleanup is easier than ever. Simply dump the grease trap, wipe off the griddle and glass cover, and you’re done. Glad we went with the larger 22” vs. 17”. We use the extra space to cook multiple foods. I guess the only real improvement we would want is a more powerful heating element for faster warmup times and actually hitting 500 degrees. Our experiences have shown that the griddle won’t actually reach 500 to sear steaks. This isn’t a huge deal though, it still gets plenty hot for all the other foods we make.

Shuts itself off randomly and the cook surface isn’t as nonstick as it was before. I’m not sure if I just got a defective one or what. It would be a great griddle if not for those things.

Domed Griddle Top and Nonstick surface Ware

Received the grill as a gift in December 2023. Works as expected the issues are the cook surface is domed even when heated up to temperature and the surface is losing its nonstick finish in the domed area. I have never used any other utensils besides the ones provided and clean with water and paper towel. These I feel are major issues. One minor issue is that the e-series logo is installed upside down. The cook temp dose drop but that is to be expected when adding something cold to a hot surface. I love cooking on the griddle but due to the domed surface some things are near imposable to cook without it spreading all over the cook surface like eggs pancakes and such.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello Richards. Thank you for leaving a review. We are sorry to hear you're having difficulties with the domed cooking surface. Our E-series griddles are fabricated with a dome in the center to protect the integrity of the metal. As the unit heats up, the griddle top should flatten out to be more manageable. It won't get completely flat, however, it should flatten out enough where cooking liquids aren't an issue. Uneven Heating

Just made pancakes on the our new 22" e series and I'm a little disappointed at how uneven they cooked. You can fit 12 pancakes (4x3) or 8 pancakes (4x2) but they won't cooknow evenly. The middle cakes cooked fast and the outer ones took twice as long. Not any faster for a large family than my old tiny electric griddle and takes up way more space. Undecided if I will keep. Disappointing because we love our two outdoor Blackstones.

Excellent griddle…love it. Easily disassembles for cleaning. The digital dials are slick, but took a minute to figure out. Also, it’s heavy. Buy the optional cart or place somewhere permanent.

Tried it out the first time and after 15 minutes of warming up we put pancakes on it. We had it set at 350. I figured this would be plenty warm for a quick pancake but the pancakes never got to temp. It was a flop. I didn’t understand the grey bars and orange bars on the front- they went up and down. I tried finding info on the internet but couldn’t find any. This was supposed to make breakfast in a big home easier and it definitely didn’t do that. Also there is an opening in the back for oil to drip out of but it looks like mine missed a finishing step and there is a burr across the opening acting like a dam and pooling the oil. Pretty unhappy

Great Concept but Poor Execution.

Bought this about 6 weeks ago and truly debated on getting the electric vs gas but thought I really liked the idea of cooking inside the house. Now after cooking on it almost daily for the last 6 weeks here are my Pros and Cons:
Cons:
Looses heat extremely quickly and takes a very long time to recover once you put food on it
The non-stick surface is for plastic utensils only and scratches easily
The non-stick surface actually bubbles or Warps - Causes cooking issues- happen on 2 cook
The lid is great but holds moisture and then pours out the sides and gets everywhere especially out of the back past the grease trap/ tray
Major hotspots and heat is not distributed very evenly.
Cons:

Excellent, just like my outside 28 propane. Now when the weather is lousy, I can griddle indoors. Easy to use, cleanup is easy. Love the non stick service and the size of the griddle.
