Unsafe design

When using this griddle with the hood, condensation builds up and pools in the back of the lid when opened. When re-closing the lid it pours the water directly on to the electric input. I had to stop cooking and let everything dry to prevent electrocuting myself.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Quality, love the size and the lid. It just won’t hold heat, and will not heat back up after food is added. I took this risk (knowing this from other reviews) so it’s in me and won’t affect my future product purchases. However, this grill is going up for sale soon.

Not Ready for prime time JUNK!

If I could give this product 0 stars I would! The griddle itself is extremely thin and warped on it's first cook! The temperatures are low to the point I could barely cook pancakes. After using a gas Blackstone for 5 plus years and loving it this is a total disappointment. I contacted Blackstone to let them know this product is not production ready and wanted to trade it for another gas unit and they refused. Now I am stuck with this worthless piece of junk. Run - don't walk away from buying an electric Blackstone!

Damaged non stick coating right out of the box

First off it works decent. I’m not impressed with how much it struggles to maintain heat. Let it warm up for 10 minutes, toss on two steaks and it will never get back up to 450 or better for the remaining of the time I’m cooking. The non stick works really well, however it was damaged and flaking when it arrived. I contacted customer care and on 12/19/23 they claimed to be sending me a new top. It’s now 1-3-24 and I have yet to see a new top or any other communication from black stone. Wasn’t going to write this review but this is the 3rd time I’ve been solicited to write one.

To be clear, I'm a Blackstone fan boy and I recommend the gas griddles to everyone. I love my 36" gas griddle with air fryer. This griddle does cook food fine and has some nice features like the high back and sides and the removable lid, but the temperature controls are disappointingly way off. You need to figure out how far off. In my case we're talking up to 100 degrees off. I understand that outdoor grill temps vary with outside conditions, but this is an electric griddle being used inside. I didn't do "lab testing", but my infrared thermometer is pretty consistent with my three other grills and my deep fryer.
