Feels like I've been defrauded

- Cooking surface is extremely thin, cannot hold heat. 2 eggs will completely cool the cooking surface.
- Never gets remotely close to advertised temp (highest surface with 500* setting and no food was 325* F) Cannot brown meat only gently boil, cannot cook more than 2 eggs at a time, cannot fry bacon.

There is something seriously flawed with the design of this griddle. The thin cooking surface just doesn't work, it's unable to hold any heat. This griddle isn't capable of cooking a small amount of food, let alone the advertised amount. I feel like Blackstone took my money, gave me a complete piece of junk, and then won't let me return it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Perfect size to cook one meal at the same time. I love the fact it's electric as I want to use it on my back patio and don't want to do gas. It heats up nicely and cooks evenly. My stove top now has dust on it. :)

Awesome griddle, but didn't last long

First off let me just say I love this griddle. I've cooked on this thing quite a bit for the past 2 years, and with a family of 6 to feed it makes life so much easier and cooking times so much quicker. It's not without its issues, though. The grease port is massive on this and unless you buy a grease gate a lot of food will end up sliding out the back and into the drip tray. The non-stick surface pretty easily gets gunked up and you'll soon have a permanent brown burnt looking area on it. The lid collects condensation and drips it all over the floor, and the plug is in just the right place for that condensation to drip on it as well and potentially cause electrical issues, which may unfortunately be what has now happened to mine. After 2 years mine now cuts off every few minutes. The display blacks out, everything powers down, and it comes back on after about 1 minute forcing me to have to reset the temperature controls. Then the cycle continues throughout my cook. I'd love to give this a 4 or 5 star rating because as I said, I really love it. Makes cooking for the family a joy, but the flaws can't be totally overlooked. And 2 years hardly qualifies as durable for something a this price point, especially considering how well I've cared for it.

This is our third Blackstone and by far our fave. We just don’t cook outside as much as we thought we would. We use this indoor griddle for every meal now. It’s been a great addition. So much so that we’re giving away our old outdoor version. Not only do we have fun cooking, cleanup is easier than ever. Simply dump the grease trap, wipe off the griddle and glass cover, and you’re done. Glad we went with the larger 22” vs. 17”. We use the extra space to cook multiple foods. I guess the only real improvement we would want is a more powerful heating element for faster warmup times and actually hitting 500 degrees. Our experiences have shown that the griddle won’t actually reach 500 to sear steaks. This isn’t a huge deal though, it still gets plenty hot for all the other foods we make.

Shuts itself off randomly and the cook surface isn’t as nonstick as it was before. I’m not sure if I just got a defective one or what. It would be a great griddle if not for those things.

Uneven Heating

Just made pancakes on the our new 22" e series and I'm a little disappointed at how uneven they cooked. You can fit 12 pancakes (4x3) or 8 pancakes (4x2) but they won't cooknow evenly. The middle cakes cooked fast and the outer ones took twice as long. Not any faster for a large family than my old tiny electric griddle and takes up way more space. Undecided if I will keep. Disappointing because we love our two outdoor Blackstones.

Excellent griddle…love it. Easily disassembles for cleaning. The digital dials are slick, but took a minute to figure out. Also, it’s heavy. Buy the optional cart or place somewhere permanent.
