Great Running Watch

The forerunner line of watches is primarily for runners (hence the name), but this watch also makes a fantastic multi-sport watch as well. This watch gives you excellent insight into where you're at with your training, sleep time and recovery time. I've had zero complaints since purchasing mine in 2022.

955 Solar - Great watch for pretty much everything

I use this for running, cycling, swimming, golf, snowboarding, yoga tracking, stretching, hiking, traithlon, and it does it all without skipping a beat. Honestly, it does everything well.

Was looking for an upgrade to my tired, old, cracked garmin watch. Decided to splurge and was not disappointed! I especially love the solar power as I was notorious for forgetting to charge my old watch and not bringing my charging cable on trips. The interface is very easy to use and great for all skill levels. I'm even buying a second one now to match my winter kits. Love this product!

The Garmin Forerunner I've Been Waiting For

From the first time I put this watch on I have loved it. It has every feature that I need and more. Great size on my wrist, great/fast GPS connection, Great battery life, the Altimeter works better than ever.
I would consider myself an advanced user of this technology. I create all of my swim and run workouts in Garmin Connect and seamlessly sync them with my Garmin using the Garmin Connect calendar.
I have used all of the following functions with happy results:

Lastly, I love the feature to be able to broadcast my heartrate to my Edge 830 and even my TrainerRoad app. I DO NOT miss the HRM Strap. I find the wrist heartrate quite accurate most of the time. I seem to be hit and miss when running, but I believe it depends on tightness and wear the watch sits. It is the sport where the watch moves around the most.
Update: I used this device on a 4 night/5 day backcountry ski tour. Rustic Cabins and no power. Had it set on 'Power Saver' mode after the first 2 days when I realized the battery was draining. These were full days of skiing with GPS on for 5/6 hours. Once I switched to 'Power Saver' the battery life improved in a huge way. The thing you do lose in 'Power Saver' is your Sleep Tracking and HRV Status. Well worth the battery life.
I don't like to let my Garmin get below 10%, so I'm not sure that I will ever see the solar advantage, but if and when I do, I assume it will do its job.

Updated. This watch only lasted 16 months for me. The features are great for training. Loads of metrics to help with performance. I wish it would have lasted longer. The Buttons have an inconsistent pressure when using them.

Everything is great I just wish the battery lasted a bit longer. I use it every day for GPS activities and non-GPS ones for 3+ hours a day. and it only lasts about a week. I have had the 935 before this, and I feel like it lasted longer than this. The 955 does track more metrics so that might cause it to not last as long. If you are upgrading from an older model like the 935 I would defiantly recommend this model it is amazing.
