Best GPS, Recovery & Training Advice Watch

Had both Polar Vantage and Garmin 945, this replaces them both, the GPS accuracy is something to behold, perfect and much improved training advice and recovery feedback. Highly recommended.

Long time Garmin Fenix owner. Love my Fenix 6pro but wanted the new readiness features and a lighter design. Just like my Fenix plus more features. Just don’t notice I’m wearing it cause it’s so light.

really like the new 955...the new features I think have been worth the upgrade - lighter than the Fenix - more accurate than Fenix 6 for run distance in my experience - bought it local and did not realize the store had saved a solar version for me instead of the regular model - but so far I think the solar is worth the upgrade as well - over a week with a charge and still had 25% left with no "saver" enabled - and this watch is doing more - sleep data is more accurate and really like the feature that gives you "good morning" data!

great potential

I'm excited about what the 955 Solar can be, but there are still hiccups in the watch software. I love the new stamina feature in my runs, and coming from the Fenix 6 pro the 955 is much lighter for runs and sleeping with the watch. The touch screen is currently buggy, and there are issues with the maps especially with using the touchscreen... hopefully with software updates many of the current issues will be addressed.

Love the solar charging and touch screen. The watch is very lightweight and has all the features and way more than I ever could want in a watch.GPS is super quick to connect and the mapping feature is easy to read and follow.

Great battery life

I had been using the Garmin 945 since 2017 since it came out and have been very happy with it. For the long races that can sometimes take 30 hours up to 100+ hours, this 955 can get me through the race with less charging on the run. I've noticed a difference on how quickly the battery drains on my shorter runs so hopefully this translates to 40+ hours in real life. For reference the 945 I had got 30 hours. The one negative issue I've fould so far is the navigation autozoom feature seems off. For the 945 I could see more clearly the turn I needed to take on a fork in the trail easier than in this 955. I think the 955 doesn't zoom in enough to see where to turn. Hopefully they correct this in future software updates.

Great features

It has has good battery life and performance for fitness activities. The Garmin app is also excellent. I paired the watch with wireless headphones and a Garmin chest strap heart rate monitor to collect additional running dynamics data and more accurate heart rate. I’ve been using it mainly for running and sleep tracking data and it is much better that the Apple Watch for those tasks. You also don’t have to charge it if you wore it over night. It also syncs data immediately with Strava when you link your accounts.
