Awesome features and functionality

I have had my watch for two weeks now and I love it. I like the fact I was able to load music to my watch which I listen to while I exercise. The sleep score information is very useful as it allows me to see how I am sleeping. The touch screen is a nice feature which I have come to appreciate. The only thing I am a little disappointed with is the battery life. I am only getting 9 to 10 days between charges. I have a Garmin Instinct which I wore for almost 3.5 years and was getting 18 to 20 days per charge. If it weren't for the battery life, I would have given it 5 stars

My kids bought it for me for my birthday. It has turns out great: I am exercising more now that I can record all my activities. There are numerous features I have not yet had a chance use.

Great features, poor battery life

I bought this to replace my aging forerunner 935 and excited about the solar charge feature. My old 935 could go 3-4 days without a recharge and when I first received this 955, it died the same day it was fully charged. I turned off the backlight (so now I can’t see the clock at night), do not get any notifications other than texts, and now the battery lasts 1-2 days while doing activities. Not sure how more I can strip this down.

So much better!

I got it a couple of weeks ago and it is a great watch.
I had the Garmin Swim before and the ForRunner 955 is so much better. So far I used it during walking, running, open water and pool swimming. 1. The display is Fantastic, and I can read the numbers during all the activities. 2. It finds the GPS quickly 3. Sync quickly, including updating the phone with the activity stats. 4. The battery is amazing and the solar is the icing on the cake.
I have a triathlon coming and can’t wait to try the multi-sport option.
One place for improvement is with the manual. There are many features and options in this watch, not all is covered. It took me some time to find out how to add the Solar intensity to the At Glance view.
Maybe add some short video clips with how t.

Battery

The first week or so I didn’t have to charge for it for about 9 days. Now for some reason I lost almost 50% in less than 24 hours. I didn’t make any changes to my settings so I’m not sure what happened but I’m a bit disappointed

Love my new 955 Solar

I have been a Garmin Forerunner fan for many years. This is another excellent product. The solar charging works so much better than I expected (I live in Northern California). The display is much easier to read than the 945. I also really like the touch screen feature. All really helpful improvements. For years I have been looking for a watch that provides running power data and the 955 does an excellent job at that. The Stamina feature is also amazingly accurate. I'm very impressed with all the new features. Well worth the upgrade from the 945 which I was also very happy with.

Overall great. Buggy software. Solar not worth it.

Overall, I'm very happy with the watch. Essentially I get all Fenix 7 features for much less money. The biggest downside is that the software is still quite buggy in places. For instance, some activity types would change between starting them and ending them. At one point it also started burning 20% battery over night, a reboot fixed that.
