Excellent training tool

I've had a 935 for many years and it has been bomb proof. The new features and battery life convinced me to upgrade. The 955 is a much more polished product than the 935 from a software and fit and finish perspective. The fact that you can now use the app to set up activities and data fields on the watch is a game changer making it much less daunting to set the watch up. The watch is overkill for anyone other than the more serious data driven athletes. But if you are looking for a smaller lighter Fenix 7 this is your watch.

phone connectivity major issue/ Garmin support does not reply

I have the watch for six days and the watch disconnect from phone and connect everyday since I have owned the watch. Have to totally removed and add many times until in it's connect to phone and app again. Garmin support has not bee helpful with this issue. All other features have been great, wish it would stay connect and Garmin support would replace or help work out this bug.

Holds a charge longer than I would expect

I have used this to hike several days in a row, and it has lasted 3 days without recharging. The volume of data it provides is more than I need but might prove useful to me down the road. Not sure how it collects the sleep data, but it seems to reflect what I intuitively feel.

Went full feature and glad I did

I've used and was pleased with a Forerunner 255 Music for a few years and was ready to upgrade. After much research of the Garmin lineup and my needs I ended up with the 955 Solar and so far have been very pleased. It has all the features I'm used to and adds the features I lacked but am glad to have (like the altimeter). The solar was a big draw and so far I've been very happy with battery life thanks to the extra juice earned from the solar.

My first running watch

I bought this because I'm starting to get heavy into running and it's perfect for that. I googled "best Garmin running watches" and this was at the top of the list so I went for it. The screen is a little on the bigger side for my small wrist. I like that I'm not reliant on a bulky phone for music or to keep track of my runs. I like that it shows me my pace because I'm all over the place and working on getting it consistent. The only thing I wish was different (besides the size) is the ability to message my siblings my run (and not a link) like I did when I was using the "map my run app" because we have a competition going.

Have never had issues with GPS connectivity. Very easy to use and durable against extreme use. Would love to see newer swimming stats and features in future models.
