Elevation always off

Over the course of the year the elevation on ascent and descent has been off, like stating I am doing 10,000 feet of climb. Even I wish I can do that I know I am not. I have called Garmin and every time they tell me reset the watch and still nothing happens. So select wisely if you are a triathlete or a runner. Best of luck!

Overall stratified, sleep option kinda off though

Everything works the only thing i have complaints is the watches sleep, doesnt pick it up all the time, might be my ends fault sense im covered in tattoos

I have been wanting a watch of this type for some time and am thrilled with my decision for this purchase. The number of features is amazing and the adaptability to whatever sport or physical activity you are engaged in is really appreciated. I am also quite enjoying seeing what my sleep score is, and it is interesting to discover that on mornings when I wake up feeling I really didn’t sleep well, my Garmin backs that up with the data!
Really looking forward to more adventures with this amazing accessory!

5 Star Watch. 3 Star Software

I’m not a smart watch person- I’ve never had a pedometer or fitbit, let alone an Apple Watch (which is, at best, an accessory to an iPhone). I like the watch a lot.
Software needs some work. Three things that would be helpful: a search feature in Connect and better map integration. I’ve added Koomot and All Trails- but it’s a GPS- why can’t I integrate it more easily?
Third. The need to pay for a third party calorie counter is unacceptable. I wouldn’t us MFP for free, let alone pay for it in premium.

Powerful watch in a low-profile package

The Forerunner 955 Solar is an excellent choice for the true multi sport athlete. From cycling, to hiking, water sports, snow sports, to golf, it has a mode for you. It's got the basics of the modern smartwatch - texts and emails and notifications are easy to set up. But it really shines when it comes to battery life. The solar component isn't going to keep you off the charger forever, but you can get days and days out of this bad boy before needing to plug in. For me, the on-wrist HR sensor works well at rest and normal activities, but starts to miss the mark during exercise. Not to worry though, it pairs perfectly with a heart rate strap, which gives you the accuracy you really need on a run or ride.

Great watch for all sporting needs

I've been using the Garmin 955 Solar for over a year, and it's an outstanding tool for both running and biking. The screen is a good size, highly readable even in bright conditions, and Garmin allows you to adjust the on-screen information for each sport, making it versatile for multiple activities. Battery life is excellent, and the solar feature extends it even further on long outings.
The built-in topographic maps are a game-changer, especially for navigation. They've saved me from needing to pull out my phone numerous times, whether I'm on a new trail or navigating through unfamiliar areas. During races, the maps provide reassurance and keep me on course without a second thought.
This watch also offers rich everyday health metrics like resting heart rate, HRV, and daily morning reports, which I find motivating and insightful. While the sensors are generally accurate, I recommend using a chest strap to capture quick heart rate changes during intense workouts. For cycling, it connects seamlessly to external sensors like speed sensors and power meters, making it ideal for those who want precise performance data.
Garmin really got it right with the 955 Solar - it's a powerful, comfortable, and dependable multisport watch with incredible options and durability in all conditions.

Garmin Forerunner Forever

This is my 3rd forerunner in the past decade and by far my favorite. I wear it 24/7 and use it all of the time. The solar feature offers enough to keep me from having to charge my watch daily even when I'm using it a ton.
I was recently in Europe running the TMB and preloaded all of my gps tracks into my watch. The trail run map feature is incredible and kept me from having to stop and pull out my map all the time.
When I'm back home, I create courses in strava and then send those to my watch and use it as a way to explore my new city (recently moved to LA from SF). The navigation even in dense areas is fantastic.
I also create running workouts, and it is so convenient to just follow the prompts and not have to look or bring a phone.
The extra data on my training performance and overall health is helpful and I'm incorporating it into my daily routine.
I also really love garmin pay because I hate bringing my phone, but I love a post-workout coffee and bagel. ü•Ø
The only feature I don't use is the music.

Best Running Watch

I was hesitant to spend this much on a fitness watch but I am so happy that I did. It was one of the best purchases I have ever made. I would highly recommend this watch to anyone that wants to get to know their stats for fitness better. I love the sleep and recovery stats. Love this watch for cycling as well.
