Nice upgrade from 735XT

Got this as a Christmas present. I had been using a 735XT for the past few years. I have been enjoying all the new features and refinements the 955 has. I have done several swims, stationary bike sessions, strength, and treadmill runs with it. So far so good… the swims seem to take a while before they are available to upload but eventually they are. Definitely still learning all the features. I should probably watch DCRainmaker’s video on it again. I like everything so far… hopefully that trend continues.

Great Smart Fitness Tool

I have been wearing the 955 Solar for 3 weeks, and have been running nearly every day. It was a lightweight replacement for my Fenix 6x just for running, but I like it so much I turned off the Fenix and haven’t looked back. The features are easier to use and more friendly than in the past. The solar charging isn’t going to add any percentage points to the battery, but during a 2 hour run in daylight it only used 4%, so it definitely helps extend battery life. Everything from the Morning Report to the post run summary are well thought out and very useful. I love the 955 Solar and highly recommend it.

Disappointing Battery

I bought the 955 Solar and used it for a few weeks. I had a 935 previously. I liked some of the new capabilities compared to 935 but didn't find any of them essential. The big issue was battery life. I was getting 5-6 days from 100% to 5% battery. This was much lower than my 935 which consistently got 10-11 days. For context, I was not using GPS and the only activity I was recording was 30 minutes of stationary bike (peleton) every other day due to weather outside. If i had used it for a bike ride or swim with GPS I expect I would have gotten more like 4 days of battery life. Not sure why it was so poor, I used the stock setting that the watch came form. I also had an issue with the bottom button on the left side of the watch. It would make a loud clicking sound and get stuck every once in a awhile. My experience was that battery life is not as advertised in real everyday use and The 735 was a MUCH better watch from build quality to battery life. I would not recommend 935.

Durable, battery life lasts about 1 1/2 a week, easy to figure out all the stuff it hard and you get to download I think 25 different apps on it.

It's really clean, strong, easy to operate, and very light. I've tried all the Apple Watch, Casio G shock ,smartwatch Suunto , and Garmin Fenix 7 and Forerunner 955 Sola are the best choices.
