Nice Upgrade from the 945

Didn’t think I’d like or use the touch screen, but it’s a nice upgrade from the 945. Less lag than the 945. Only slightly larger than the 945. Battery life is great.

I have been using another brand of fitness tracker (monthly subscription based) for years and had been looking to ditch the cost, but was worried I would miss the metrics. This Garmin product does EVERYTHING and MORE that the other tracker that I was using did WITHOUT the reoccurring cost AND with a much more user friendly interface. Also, I was able to ditch my smartwatch, so no more two devices. It's so nice to be able to streamline your life...fitness tracking, seamless integration with my cell phone, a million apps, recovery and training insights - what DOESN'T this watch do? LOVE IT. My husband purchased one at the same time and we love challenging each other each week...it's great motivation to stay active! Thanks for such a WONDERFUL product and great customer service. I've chatted with Garmin online a few times working through set up and figuring out how to broadcast heartrate and whatnot. Customer support has been excellent. So very happy with this purchase!

I had some issues with my 945 LTE and Garmin replaced it with the 955 Solar and it’s awesome! Love that I can change my training sessions via Garmin Connect!

Bought December 22 and used a few times before taking a break feom regular workouts. Used for skiing, hunting, regular calisthenics, weights, and triathlon training. Skiing worked great, it kept track of all the runs, speeds, etc. I didn't know how to find the actual resort with names of runs and such even though it was preloaded, but it detected all the vitals and determined when I was going up the lift and where I was. GPS seems very good. The hunting was more "yes/no" text response, step tracking and such. would like to have used the actual tracking/way points etc. but didn’t have time to figure it out. Did use the map/ compass/ altimeter a bit (mostly because it's cool). would be awesome to be able to overlay gis maps when hunting, maybe you can? it somehow knows how many push-ups I do and is really accurate on lifting reps. treadmill calibration was surprisingly accurate first time but I messed it up somehow (believe i waited too long to push stop and it included some slow down.) I need to redo, I hope I can. Swimming is very good, I like the ability to have countdown start. whether a smooth mile or intervals it works great. had to put exercise bike distance in manually, no big deal. haven't run outside or biked outside yet. I enjoy the morning report, body battery, weather, sleep tracking, etc. have used the on board music and it is very nice to have just ear buds and watch, and not have to worry about a phone and accidental screen touching (since I don't use any music apps, haven't figured out how to lock screen and keep playing on phone) The fit/comfort are great and battery seems unrealistic in how long it lasts and how quick it charges. I only worry about scratches and stuff (possibly put a liquid protector on but haven't decided yet. ) touch response is great, like having buttons also. I will learn more about the training and readiness stuff just haven't had time to check out and get a decent baseline or put specific goals in although I'd like to do a half-Ironman this year or next. I don't have it exposed to the sun much but it does work good holding charge when in the sun. interface with phone is great (android), love the app, easy to use. haven't joined up with strava or others yet. much more could be said and learned by me, so far so good though! great job garmin.

Perfect watch for Multisport

I upgraded from a 945 and I couldn't be happier besides the fact that it allowed me to re-purpose my quick release band and bike mount from my old 945 (that was a must option for me) the new touch screen and solar options made my life really easy and I can definitely attest for the more accurate measures.
So I am in Love with my 955 Solar.
