Don’t waste your money!

I’m on my second Symmetry case, due to the flawed design of the pencil holder. The first one lasted 6 months, this one about 2.5 weeks. The little clips that enable the pencil tray to slide pop out constantly. That was merely annoying on the first case, until constantly popping them back in caused the case itself to break. They don’t even pop back in on the second case, and the pencil holder dangles from the case. I can’t even pay another fee and send it back for another replacement because OtterBox is out of them. I’m so frustrated and annoyed, especially because it wasn’t exactly cheap.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I got this case as a warranty replacement. They were out of stock of my original case. It is sleek, lightweight compared to the Defender Series Pro. I've also had the original Apple case that is similar to this one but I have to admit I do like the Otterbox better. Ive always purchased otterbox for protection for all of my electronics but then decided to step out and purchase apple products. Needless to say, I came back to Otterbox. I like this case and the clear back is cute. My main complaint is how the pen is stored. It is kind of hard to "pull" the opening up and to place the pencil inside. But I later figured out if i use both hands to pull it up, it works better but then you have to use one of your hand to put your pencil in lol..I like the feature where it charges while it's storing. It seems to be very secured. I use it for college, put the ipad in my backpack and it's still good and sturdy in place, and I haven't had any problems with it falling out unlike the defender, the pen would not stay stored in it's place. When you open the case the pencil would fall out. I took off 1 star because of the pen storage. If otterbox can fix that, it would be great.

Pencil holder fell off

I bought this product because of the pencil holder and it fell off after a couple of days of use and I can‘t put it back. Now I can’t use it anymore because I need this pencil holder. I wish I read reviews before buying it because it seems that many of people have the same problem.

Pencil tray is terrible.

This version of a cover is a joke. I had an Otterbox cover on my previous iPad. There was no pencil tray, just a flap that secured the cover and pencil. This pencil tray falls apart with no effort. It gets no rough treatment.

The Apple Pencil holder broke off on my first trip away from home. It is very flimsy, and was my first comment when I put a pencil in it. I managed to mostly reattach the pencil holder, but am positive at some point the pencil will simply disappear when the pencil holder pops off or the pencil pops out, since it can never be stowed

I can’t open it without fingernails… it’s likely easier if you slide out the stylus holder, but you still have to use your fingernails… Which, if you’re constantly trimming your nails back, makes this nearly impossible. And my seven-year-old daughter cannot open it without help.. a millimeter of gap anywhere would have been so nice.
Overall, I’m pretty happy. Though, I wonder overtime if the hinge will get a little too loose. At the moment it’s nearly too wobbly.
We got this because it was thin and we wanted to draw with it. The tablet itself is way too slippery. So a nice thin case like this is very helpful for drawing. And the way up into a triangle is adequate through drawing.

The case itself protects the iPad really well and I love the color choices but the reason I give it a three star review is because it has an iPad pencil holder that pulls out, but comes off too easily, and it’s almost impossible to put back on. It requires so much pressure to snap it back in. After that it frequently pops off. The pencil holder was one of the reasons I bought this case. The price of the case for that to happen any time you grab your tablet is my issue.
