Love the Fridge, Concerned About the Temp Display

Refrigerator is very nice on the inside - great lights and storage and crisper drawers. Makes ice like a champ. I don't, however, understand why KitchenAid writes such an incredibly poor manual that comes with the fridge. One thing that is of concern is the new display - instead of displaying the actual temp in the fridge, it displays what the fridge is set to. So your fridge could be set to 37 degrees and that is what the display shows - your fridge could actually be 45 degrees, but IT WON'T SHOW YOU THAT. How unhelpful (and dangerous) is that? I've never had a fridge with a digital display that doesn't show you the actual current temperature.
The fridge has a couple of new special features of a marinating pan and an appetizer tray (I think) but the manual doesn't talk about these really or explain what they are. On the KitchenAid product page for these features, the videos don't work. It's weird how little marketing KitchenAid tries to do for their new designs.
It could be so much better. And KitchenAid seems to be absolutely clueless.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Will not buy another KitchenAid

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The day I put food on the top shelf it froze and burst a can and glass bottle sending kombucha and sparkling water down the back wall. I've blocked an area in front of vent to avoid freezing. Temps are at factory settings.
When removing the plastic tape on drawers the black arrows leached onto the metal.
I don't like that there is only one place to pull out the big drawer instead across the whole bar. Now I have be conscious of hand placement every time.
The edges of the shelves are extremely sharp and have scratches to prove.
I don't like the door closure. I have to push it closed instead of continuation of motion.
It has a sound like an old phone ringing. About 2/day. Weird.
All these issues I thought I paid to avoid at this price I'm sure I will not be buying another KitchenAid

Very sleek and modern!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our 17-yr old 48” wide Viking refrigerator finally gave out. So, we decided to go with this lovely, large Kitchenaid refrigerator to fit into the custom cabinetry (that was built for the Viking, by the original owner of the house). The Kitchenaid model was more affordable than replacing with another 48” Viking.
It’s working beautifully, so far - though we will be paying a hefty amount each month to pay it off. We believe it will be worth it - if the Kitchenaid lasts as long as the Viking did!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fit and finish of this fridge is great, only complaint is that at this price point I would’ve expected more stainless steel in the door bin inserts and drawers. Still a better value than some other high end fridges but time will tell about reliability.
