1040 makes my biking complete

I got my new Giant Defy last week. Also the 1040 with the rear light radar device.
Love info at my finger tips.

It's pretty near perfect

I purchased following a trial of the Karoo 2. I was not in love with the Karoo 2.
I immediately fell in love with the 1040. I have a garmin watch so it fits perfectly into my riding and other exercise. I love the training and fitness tracking. I love the guidance. I love the other garmin addons that work with it.
The radar and head light are awesome. I ride a lot at night. It's awesome.

Good device .. apple health integration is awful

Device is fine. New ui is good. Apple health integration is a complete train wreck. Doesnt properly update hr, bike events, or workouts. Makes a complete mess of your Apple Health data. Garmin shouldnt be able to advertise Apple Health support while this mess is still in place. This is all a result of Garmin’s focus on releasing lots of poorly thought out and executed features instead of a few excellent features that work well! Look out Garmin .. your software and ui/ux failures will be your undoing.

Coming from Edge 1030 plus and also compared it side by side with the Hammerhead Karoo 2. I returned the Karoo 2 and keeping the 1040. Faster boot time than the 1030, screen/font combination makes the screen readability much better. Now you can use the Garmin Connect app on your phone to set up the 1040. Improvements about workouts and metrics. Overall very happy. Only issue I have found out so far is the recording of testing heart rate. I use the Garmin HRM strap but I take it off the moment I finish my ride and Garmin records my resting heart rate at an elevated level which creates an issue with the health metrics.
