I originally owned the Edge 530 and was looking for more battery life and a bit larger screen for gravel rides. The Edge 1040 has been a massive improvement both in function and screen view. The battery life is better than what I expected per ride and I very rarely have to charge it. It was a super easy set up and I'm really happy I made the upgrade. Garmin still far exceeds any other computer brand I've tested.

For cycling no one can compare to garmin the mapping and accuracy is way beyond the old 1000 I had used for years. Paired with garmin connect it's easy to use.

This is my 3rd Garmin bike computer and is working great. It has all the familiar features from my 820 and many more (perhaps overkill for a beginner, great for long term). The battery life is drastically improved on this computer. No problems with water/sweat on the screen making unexpected selections. Would definitely buy Garmin again.

Garmin 1040 hits the mark perfectly

I received the 1040 and was pleased it came with the out front mount in the box. Easy to assemble and easy to get ready for my first ride with it. I rode a 52 mile route that was modified from ride with GPS due to gravel and bridge out, and it easily rerouted when I was riding to get a good overall ride in. I like how it integrates with other apps and the touchscreen is perfect. Right size for me!
