I decided to upgrade from my 520plus to have a larger screen and longer battery life. I've been very impressed with the features of the Edge 1040. I was able to sync with TP right away and all of my sensors. I especially like the broadcast HR feature from my Garmin 965.

I upgraded from an Edge 1000. Nice upgrade, especially with battery life. Did find some of the navigation a bit of a challenge at first, but once I got the setup completed it's a breeze.

Everything you could want in a Cycling Computer

I have had this computer for about 10 months now and used it in a variety of situations, and it has surpassed my expectations along the way. The longest ride I took it on so far has been Triple Bypass in Colorado which was after about 8 hours of riding the days leading up to it, and the battery still had plenty of charge after. If you like to do epic long rides/ go bikepacking I can't recommend this computer more. If you are more diligent about keeping your devices charged and don't need the battery life I would save the money and go for the 840 instead.

I upgraded to the 1040 for the larger screen and newer metrics. This unit has been easy to read in the sunlight. Has great battery life. The incident detection and live track are great and keep my wife informed of where I am, especially since I ride a lot by myself.

My husband got me the Edge 1040 for Christmas because I had really been wanting a bike computer. After comparing many Garmin and Wahoo bike computers, we chose the Edge 1040, which was far superior. I'm loving it!

Wow, this provides so much great visibility into my MTB performance. The screen is large and I plan to use this for the next 10+ years.
