I've had Garmin Edge cycling computers dating back to my first, an Edge 305. Since then I've had the 500, 510, 520 and 530 Models. They have gotten progressively better and better. The functionality and user interface of the Edge 1040 is a significant step forward from the previous models that I have used. The touch screen functionality has improved since the last unit I had with that feature, the Edge 510. Setup of the new unit has become a much better experience, transferring many/most of the setting from my previous computer. Battery life is exceptional, pairing with sensors is fast and routing/calculating of routes is also much faster.
No question this is the best Edge cycling computer that I've used to date. Kudos Garmin for continuing to advance the technology, analysis and features packed into your products.

Massive upgrade from a 530 and has performed flawlessly. The multi band gps is legit and keeps signal.

I have been using it for over a month now. It is flawless and has many features I may never use but I’m glad I have them just in case. I clearly see it the screen no matter if it is sunny or not.

I’ve had a month or more to use my Garmin Edge 1040. It has alot more features than what I will use at the moment. Nice design, sturdy construction and no problems with viewing the color screen.
