Not Disappointed BUT Not Impressed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After 1-2 months and 8-10 uses, the igniter is already malfunctioning. After the first few runs, we’ve mostly been lighting the burner manually. Certainly has the power to heat the oven to temps well over 900 degrees and efficiency to run the Karu 16. At higher temps you definitely need to tone down the flame or risk charring the top of the pizza before the crust is done. Also the flow control knob seems to be a bit finicky. Just after ignition it can be a challenge to keep the flame lit while adjust the gas flow.

Must-have with your Karu16

It's easy to assemble and use, and I love the versatility of switching between wood/gas for a drastically different flavor. Highly recommend the gas burner for that consistent high temp cooking

Love having the temperature precision

Am still just learning how to cook amazing pizzas in my Ooni, and I can't imagine not having the gas burner to fine tune the temperature. Maybe someone experienced with wood burning or charcoal fueled ovens can do just fine but the burner is essential for me as a beginner to the pizza chef-hood!

Must have to get started with the ooni karu 16

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the Karu16 initially without the gas burner and was looking forward to cooking pizzas with real wood and charcoal. But while pizza can taste great when you cook it with real fire from real wood, temperature control can be quite challenging. My first pie or two often came out at least slightly burned on top or the base was cooked quicker than the top. Cooking with the gas burner is much more predictable and I highly recommend starting with the gas burner and then venturing into cooking with wood and/or charcoal.

Gas burner
