I bought this because I didn't want to waste any of what I was making. I felt it was better to get the specialized tool for the machine. I think it was worth it to get all the good stuff out. After making a smoothie I was alway putting a cup of almond milk into the Vitamix (and still do most of the time) to get all the goodness out - this tool works well to get a things when the almond milk won't do the trick. It is easy and good addition.
