Some of the lower reviews on this product seem to confuse this as a spatula. If you buy this expecting it to work as well as a flat spatula, you don't have the right idea.
It can work as a spatula to some degree, but obviously isn't designed as its main functionality. It's designed to get under the blade and it does just that. I find that it's most useful for denser consistency foods like nut butters. For anything with a thinner consistency, a silicone spatula would work just as well especially when you're trying to get the most off the sides of the container.

I've owned a Vitamix for 7 years. The motor died on my first one and I replaced it 3 years ago with the short canister model. I was always annoyed with how much of whatever I was making was left stuck under the blades. This blade scraper is EXACTLY what I needed! I get EVERYTHING out now!

I’ve had this scraper for about a month! I’m using it with the classic taller containers and it’s helped so much. I used to feel horrible about leaving so much food under the blades that I was unable to pour out. It doesn’t get all of the food out but I definitely am not wasting as much as before. Probably just takes a bit of finesse to work it around the blades

I have had the under blade scraper for about 3 months. Was working well, but the scraper piece detached easily when scraping smoothie out. Would likely not purchase again.

I was hoping this blade scraper would really get all the food out of my blender but I’d say it doesn’t do a better job than a regular small scraper (sometimes called a spatula, but not to be confused with the pancake flipper which can be called a spatula!) Hummus is one of the foods I make a lot that tends to gather under the blade so I had hoped to scrape out every last bit of it with this blade scraper made specifically for this job, but it was kind of hard to maneuver and left a lot. I still had to use my small spatula for the sides of the blend container and then clean the rest out. Maybe I just need more practice, but I don’t really recommend buying this.

The only problem with a Vitamix SOLVED. This is a must have. I love my vitamix and use it multiple times most days. I'm a vegan and make my own "cheeses", bean pastes, bread, sauces. I also have a large garden and put up loads of veggies I love my vitamix -- but scraping it out was awful. I wasted so much! NO MORE! This solves the problem. I get the container really clean with it. I LOVE it. It should be included with every machine!

Purchased the under blade scraper hoping it would get at least SOME of the food out from under blades...no other options. It did better than that...first attempt got at least 75%. Slight learning curve in figuring out how best to hold the gadget. Well worth the price!
