Hello, the blade scraper will get easier the more you use it. We have several different hummus recipes you may want to try: https://www.vitamix.com/us/en_US/browse/recipes/s_hummus/
I thought this Item would work great , but it does not live up to the hype. Very disappointed.

My inspiration to order this was my super thick and creamy smoothies. I am the type of person who adds yogurt, nut butter and ice on top of my fruits and veggies. While this makes for a delicious combo it can be diffcult to get out such a creamy mixture, especially when its smaller servings. I did not want to use spoons as that would ruin my container so I purchased this! Not only is it easy to use, it also eliminates product waste. I also find if something gets stuck under the blade well this , as advertised does the job! Would highly recommend as this will save your container from wear and tear and help you enjoy a larger quantity of whatever you make

If you're going to bite the bullet and splurge on a Vitamix, go ahead and get the Under Blade Scraper as well. It will save your hands when you're trying to get the last bit of sticky goodness from under the blades. I'd say these are required since the blades are attached to the jars and not a detachable part.
