I've cooked Fish, chicken, steak and Brussel sprouts on it so far and they've all been spectacular.
If for some reason I had to get another BBQ I wouldn't even consider getting anything else.

Put off buying smoker for last couple years
2 weeks before Father's Day bought 820 sportsman and love it.
Smoked flattened chicken and brisket for Father's Day and everyone raved at tenderness and flavour.
This unit is so easy to use. Pre rubbing or seasoning your meat makes all the difference.
Best backyard purchase I've made.

Got it back in August and it been working great, as for a cover the 820 pro series with stack and side tray works perfect. Only draw back is I was looking for a more smoky flavor. I tried the different settings and a smoke tube just not the same as a stick burner,working on that (maybe will add a smoke daddy?)
I would recommend this to a friend!

Think that I would own a pellet grill, let alone love it as much as I do. It took a little getting use to , but man this thing is awesome. I’ve had it 3 months and felt that was long enough to be able to give an honest review. The “P” setting take a bit to learn, but it makes smoking SOOO much easier. The taste is much cleaner than a stick burner and gas smoker. The only thing I would like is a bigger flip up tray, but that’s knit-picking. The Sportsman is great, even without WiFi.

I have been contemplating buying a pellet grill for some time. After a lot of research, I chose the Pit Boss Sportsman 820. After one week, I have smoked three times and grilled once. After putting it together and setting it where my old gas grill used to be, I realized I could of had enough room for the Sportsman 1100. Oh well, that will be my next one and I will donate this one to one of the kids.

Bought it a year ago. First time of smoking a turkey. (Looks awesome) smoked three racks of ribs, beer chicken, brisket, hamburgers, and hot dogs. It keeps even temp all the way across. The two probes I love. This is the turkey I am smoking now.

I just got a sportsman 820 and wow!!!!
Been looking at pellet grills for a while and decided on this one. Awesome quality,everything fits right out the box.
Heavier gauge metal than some of the more expensive competitors.5 yr warranty,love it! Think that the sear option is just an awesome idea to get that perfect char. Its a well designed piece of kit.Perfect size.

Does Pit Boss have an insulated blanket specifically for the Sportsman 820? If not, what is recommended?
Great grill. Temperature fluctuates 15-20 degrees just like any pellet grill. A lot more ancillaries that come with it compared to a Trager.

Yes, you need the 800 series insulated blanket for the 820SP.
