Built great, But ….

This unit it built great, heavy duty, high quality. But, I have use it 3 times and now I get an Er1 message. I unplugged it, ran it for about 5 min and the Er1 message came back. I’m not

Great all out features it's amazing

I bought one about 6 months ago it's been amazing. I couldn't ask for my meat to come out any better than what it do. I'm not a professional cook but you couldn't tell my family and friends that on game day. If you don't have one, you need to invest in one.

Bang for your buck!

I bought this smoker yesterday and have already put it to use! Very easy to assemble with the directions and the burn in process is a breeze. The only things I would change is a thicker gasket on the door for a better seal and move the electronic controls to the side or on top somewhere. Other than that, this smoker can’t be beat for the money!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Temp is off

Got this a couple of week's ago and this is my 2nd time to use it. Smokes great, only thing i do not like about it is the digital display. The temp is off by about 23 digress. Make sure you use a oven thermometer to check the temp.

Great grill---works well

I bought this in mid-February after getting several great reviews from co-workers.
I like it--I just wish the quality was just a bit higher. I'd be willing to pay another $30-$40 for higher quality wheels/casters, thicker supports, etc. I just have a feeling the screws will start rusting, etc.
The directions are not great--I had to read them several times and they were far from clear. If the directions tell you to mount the support leg with "two holes in the bottom" on the left. I spent a few minutes trying to sort that one out because BOTH supports have holes (in the same place). There are other directions instructing you to place the piece with the angle, or flat side, etc but the drawn graphics are so small you cannot discern the piece.
Pit Boss needs to purchase and put together a Weber grill to see how great directions are crafted. The screws are separately packed according to the installation *step*. So all the screws for Step 1 are in one package, Step 3 in another, etc. That is much easier than having all the same size screws in one blister pack. Follow Weber's example. It took me an extra 20-30 minutes to put the Pit Boss together because of the only moderately clear instructions. Once the grill is put together-it all worked well.

Good value

Coming from a stick burner to a pellet smoker I was not sure what to expect. The smoker is well packed with a box in a box configuration. I must say it can be a little challenging getting it unboxed. Took about 90 mins to assemble with good instruction. First impression was that it is a well made smoker. The initial burn went well. The next day I put it to the test cooking a 7lb turkey breast. I prepped my turkey and preheated smoker while setting up my thermoworks smoke thermometers, one for air and the other for the turkey. Filled the water pan and in it goes. With a pellet smoker you do not get as much smoke as other types. Some people find that more appealing. Now on to the temperature control. Temperature control was OK but the read out on the control panel was off by a lot. On average I will say the smoker runs hot with the actual temp being +50 F versus what the readout states. Keep this in mind and you will be good. In about 3 hours I had a nicely browned turkey breast which was moist with a slight smoke essence. Next test will be brisket and ribs.

Pitboss smoker

Bought copperhead smoker 7 years ago and have used it 3 or 4 times a month year round. Yes temp runs up and down its wood fired and the best smoker i have ever owned. Only problem i have had was when my wife was washing patio she got the controller wet and it went out. Ordered new one and 30 minutes later i was smoking ribs. Trust me you won't go wrong with a pitboss. I even got my neighbor to get one 3 years ago and he loves it

Pit boss was awesome in backing their warranty! The only thing I wish was different was the control panel! Placing it at the bottom was kinda messy with things dripping down into the panel
