First burn off successful

Auger very quiet. Didn't think it was working. I do now. Wandered around heat goal above and below. Overall probably averaged out. App cool. Disconnects a lot but comes right back. Timer worked in app and it recognized heating and eve turned it off. Pretty cool. Hope it works for a long time

The grill works great. I will say that the app is a bit lame, and the registration was clunky (didn't even have my model type to select). Replacing my 8 year old 700. Hope this one lasts as long.

Love it! except having to replace the board 3x now

I bought this on a sale for a killer deal and absolutely love it! My only con (and its significant) is that i have had to replace the Control Board 3 times now. The grill has a cover for it and is plugged directly into an outlet not an extension cord.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hey Jashir86, we’re glad to hear you love the grill and scored a great deal, but needing to replace the control board three times is definitely not the experience we want for you. If you run into issues with power again and the fuse is intact, try to leave the grill plugged into a power source for 10-15 minutes before initially powering it on, and let us know if that helps!

Is my grill supposed to start all by itself???

I've had my Sportsman for 1 year now and I'll say that I really enjoy using it...Except for two flaws. One minor, one could have burned my house down. The belly pan rusts immediately. Have you ever heard of stainless steel? But what really scares me is that last night it started up all by itself. We can see it on the ring cam just coming to life. When I was leaving for work I could hear it. HOT!!! Good thing the cover was off!! Unplug the grill after every use. Even if it is off.

For safety, we always recommend unplugging the unit when not in use, especially since the grill cannot power on by itself unless it receives power. purchased the sportsman 820, on saturday the 3rd got it home and went to do the first burn to burn off any residues, went to set the temp and led display was real dim, set to 400 and let it run for about 40 minutes and noticed you could not see the display at all, bummer, not cooking dinner on it tonight. Even though it was saturday i figured I would call pit boss, after being on hold for about 5 minutes a gentleman answered, very polite and asked how he could help me and I explained the situation and we registered the pit and sent a link so he could get a pic of the display and said the replacement board to take care of the issue was being shipped out. I was really not happy when the display did not work being the first time to use it, but with the positive attitude and the help from the gentleman on the phone I was happy that I did buy a product with very good service dept to resolve issues,
