We enjoy our PWR CORE20 Brushless 12 in. chain saw kit by SKIL that it is lightweight and easy to use. One of the advantages is that my wife and daughter feel comfortable using this saw. Being a battery operated it is easy to start and run. There is no struggling with a pull cord. Depress the trigger and safety button and away you go. Being that it features a hand brake, always remember to unlock it. This saw has a long run time between charges and uses very little chain oil, unlike its gas relatives.
Having this saw is a must for a serious DIY'er. But it comes in handy if you need a saw for an occasion that arises or an emergency. You always have a battery that when charged lasts a long time.

POWERFUL BUT NOT FLAWLESS

This little chainsaw is a workhorse that will cut powerfully with its long-lasting 4Ah battery. But it is not without flaws. The fact that the chain oil leaks if not stored just right (the orientation of which is not mentioned in the owner's manual) is annoying. It took me a while to figure out that if I stored it so the oil fill cap is on the bottom, it will not leak unless newly filled. Also the bar clamp has a tendency to come loose during operation, and THAT is a safety hazard and could damage your chain or drive if not noted early. I've learned by the sound of the chain that it is loose, and I'm right 95% of the time. I bought a second battery, and the battery will fully charge by the time my first battery is exhausted. Also, the "kit" doesn't come with a chainsaw file. What the heck? Overall, I'd give it 4 stars, pleased with the performance, annoyed with the maintenance.

Very tough little saw. Managed to cut some very big logs with this saw, but it takes a tole on battery.
For logs up to 10 inch in diameter, I would definitely recommend.
