Compact but Powerful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This chain saw is very impressive! I had a cedar tree that was down in my backyard that needed to be cut into smaller pieces and this did the job. I was impressed with how quickly the battery charged and was up and running within 30 minutes. The quick charge did make me a bit apprehensive with how much power I would get from a battery-powered chain saw, but once I fired it up, my doubts went away. I was able to cut through the tree trunk with the same speed and ease as any gas-powered chain saw without any extra hassle, without needing to be sure I had gas on-hand, and without concern that I would run out of juice mid-project. The battery power is long-lasting and consistent. Another perk of this tool is how compact and lightweight it is. You could easily trim limbs from trees overhead with no trouble at all. Do not mistake lightweight for chintzy, though. This chain saw is clearly made with quality in mind and designed to get the job done. The easy storage bracket is genius and allows me to put my new tools away without taking up additional real estate in my garage, which is an added bonus. Lastly, the fact that I can take the battery off the chain saw and pop it onto my SKIL PWR CORE Blower to clean up is so convenient and makes swapping tools and finishing my projects a breeze.

Didn't expect a 20v cordless chainsaw to be this good. Picked up so that I didn't have to be firing up the gas saw at night for camp fires, and to throw in the SxS incase a trail needs to be widened. It's the only brushless 20v with auto oiler at this price and it is worth every cent.

I was tempted to take this oversized beam back to the mill to cut but thought I’d try this chainsaw instead. Glad I did. Save me an hour drive and made a clean cut.

We purchased the SKIL Power Core 20 chainsaw as I was using a "bucksaw" to clear deadfall
bows and trunks up to 5" diameter..., a long and difficult job. Decided a cordless chainsaw would be a better option. Absolutely the right decision. The SKIL cuts through this work so efficiently and effectively. It handles this task for all the daily time I want to commit (+/- 2 hrs.) and doesn't need a charge until at least the end of the next day, This is a good product and I am happy to be using.

Hot Knife Through Butter

When considering a new chain saw I didn’t think a battery power tool was an option. After a friend’s recommendation I decided to get the 12in SKIL Chain Saw, my apprehension was quickly changed when I used it for the first time. I was impressed by how much power I got from a battery-powered chain saw. The battery power is long-lasting and quick to charge. Another thing I liked with this tool is how compact and lightweight it is. I don’t have any large trees, so only needed the smaller 12 in. model for tree/cactus trimming. The chain saw worked like a hot knife through butter, with no trouble at all. The chain saw is well designed, and it got the job done. Additionally, I do like that I can take the battery off the chain saw and pop it onto my SKIL Blower. If you have smaller tree trimming jobs, this could be the right chain saw for you.

I'm done with gas powered products. This chain saw has features that are as good as any gas chain saw and far better features than other battery powered chain saws. Chain brake is a huge feature and I love the tool less chain tensioning. Great quality and a good value for all the features.

Had been gifted a cedar bed frame that needed to be cut down. The corner posts were more than 6” in diameter so this tool seemed like a good option for a test run of this chainsaw. It was smooth sailing and made a clean, swift cut. I’m taking it into the woods next!!!
