I cannot believe how much wood this saw can chop with its 4 amp hour battery! I made about 20 cuts through 5” diameter birch and still had 1/2 battery left. It works so well it feels like a pain to haul out my gas Stihl now. I will only use that for big jobs.
After the ice storm of '23 in Texas and all the broken tree branches scattered throughout the city and property. This Skil chainsaw did its job in the clean up.
As a senior female I was hoping never to have the need to use the chainsaw but being surrounded by woods on two sides realized I needed to be prepared. I had occasion yesterday to cut 30' of tree laying in my yard into foot size sections in a relatively short period of time. The cut was smooth from start to finish without any slowdown of power as the battery wore down. The chainsaw was small enough and light enough that I had no problem using it.
As a woman with no experience with chainsaws I found the Skil PWR Core chainsaw so easy to use. I bought it to trim my large canary palm tree. It cut through the palm fronds like butter, and these fronds are huge with big spikes. I couldn't be happier. Skil offers a 4ah battery vs. a 2.5 that most competitors offer. Great buy!
We enjoy our PWR CORE20 Brushless 12 in. chain saw kit by SKIL that it is lightweight and easy to use. One of the advantages is that my wife and daughter feel comfortable using this saw. Being a battery operated it is easy to start and run. There is no struggling with a pull cord. Depress the trigger and safety button and away you go. Being that it features a hand brake, always remember to unlock it. This saw has a long run time between charges and uses very little chain oil, unlike its gas relatives. Having this saw is a must for a serious DIY'er. But it comes in handy if you need a saw for an occasion that arises or an emergency. You always have a battery that when charged lasts a long time.
